Anyway my original point wasn't to say we were poor because I think that was clear. It was about worrying about relegation which honestly after the Weds and Sunderland defeats entered my mind for the first time.

I think we'd have been ok, but a rot can be hard to get out of and we were in danger of falling into one.

Even a thread about Gboli Ariyibi isn't safe from the Warburton/Karanka debate.

But we were in a rot when we rescued a point at home to Reading having not won in five, and being only 8 points away from the drop. Same again after defeat to Brentford at home.

I don't remember any major worries about relegation then for the same reason - at both of those times none of the bottom 5 teams had broken out from their <1PPG averages.

Fair enough we were on a poor run of form, but those 2 games took us to the January transfer window where players to improve us could have been acquired.

No one knows what Warburton had planned in that window. I'm guessing not much given his reference to fine margins & liking for scottish players.

Its the problem here, when the current bloke struggles, we always seem to think the last bloke was the answer. He wasnt.

On the contrary, we always think the NEXT bloke will be the answer.

The disappointing thing is I have never seen him play , I cannot judge a player that I haven't seen.
Feel sorry for him really , Given the change in managers since he was purchased.

There were never any major worries about relegation as far as I was concerned

To me it's one of those pointless discussions where you're arguing a problem whilst having all the answers.

But I suppose it's football fans chewing the fat over a pint, solving the problems of the world.

I’m guessing plenty of people have done the following recently.....

1. See loads of new posts on the Ariyibi thread;

2. Enter thread hoping to read how Vrentzos has managed to offload this waste of space outside the transfer window;

3. Realise with disappointment that it is just Warburton vs. Karanka part 84;

4. Leave thread.

You could apply that to every single thread on the forum to be fair.

Going back to Chesterfield on loan, difference being they are two division lower than when he left them.

The only reason you might want to lend a player to a conference level team is the fact that his contract expires in 2020 and Vrentzos is reluctant to pay him a large indemnity.

He will never play at Forest, he knows it, this is a "go anywhere so that we don't see until the summer, when we're renegotiate the termination of your contract" loan.

Has to go down as the worst signing we've ever made. At least players like Dumitru, silenzi and Cole got game time :LOL:

LOL. Why does everything have to be "the worst ever" or "best ever" these days? Do you know every signing the club has ever made?

For some reason I thought the fee was 1m, but it turns out it was half that.

My bad.
