Let’s just see how far he gets in the next three to six months. It’s not over for him yet and if he can keep getting the minutes in then who knows what’ll happen come August. The last time he lasted a full game was 23/10/2021, and has played 501 minutes since then. I think we can write him off as a Premier League footballer. He needs to be starting much lower down the pyramid.
He's one of the few members of our playing staff that might benefit from us getting relegated. Harsh on the lad, because we've never been told fully what his problems have been. One thing that won't change though is the fact that the PL is brutal.Let’s just see how far he gets in the next three to six months. Thanks for taking the time to report back. I'm guessing his replacement wasn't up to much either? No, he's not. He did absolutely nothing, and got rightfully subbed at half-time. I'm afraid the only way for him to get his career back on track is to go to a lower league in order to have guaranteed playing time, work his socks off in training to get his athleticism to top level and hope that you'll give him another chance. But not this summer, he will most certainly be unable to cope with the level of intensity in the Premier.
Is Carmo that centre back we supposedly have a clause/option on? Any good?Richards starts at left back today by the looks of it. Alongside Biancone and Carmo who I bet we end up with in the summer!
I think so but might have a few issues with temperament. We shall see.Is Carmo that centre back we supposedly have a clause/option on? Any good?
Should be OK if he keeps Carmo thenI think so but might have a few issues with temperament. We shall see.
Sorry, I didn't see this, I replied in the Olympiacos thread.Be interesting to hear from our greek friends on his performance
Thanks, I just read it. He is very talented and I suppose your point about hesitancy is probably true given his time out. A bit like CHO has been this season.Sorry, I didn't see this, I replied in the Olympiacos thread.
In which case GBG, how do you rate the chances of Oly agreeing to pay NFFC an eight-figure loan-fee for another season of his services? He played his first game as a starter in a long while on Sunday, and was very good; probably his best overall appearance over here. He struggled a bit defensively in the first few minutes, but then completely bossed the left side both defensively and upfront. He capped a very promising appearance with an assist in the end (to João Carvalho no less).
I think his future depends on him. He's not ready to play in the Premier yet, after having lost almost two years with injuries. If he feels strong enough to play 90 minutes once or twice a week, he should go to a team that would have him as a starter and then he might be ready for you. If he likes it here and doesn't mind not being a starter day in, day out, we'd gladly have him for another year.
That would be a flagrant breach of the rules. In which case GBG, how do you rate the chances of Oly agreeing to pay NFFC an eight-figure loan-fee for another season of his services?

He's a hell of a good player if he can get fit, stay fit, and get motivated. I'd love to see him playing LB for us.
Probably be two years left after this won’t it? Four years seems standard for a player his age. He’ll be out of contract by the time he’s fit. That’s not meant as a dig, but if he needs another season then he can’t have long left on his deal.
