I have a visual on him (the one on the floor).

He’s actually shown some pace and putting a decent cross (ish).

The incredibly sad thing about all of this is that Omar is a good player. He was standout for Reading sufficiently for Bayern to want him and play him, which meant we spent a lot of money on him.

Fans should be lucky they didn't pay to watch this, some real tragic football being played, with Oly looking the worse of the two.

Had no idea Fatih Terim was at Panathinaikos & was even more surprised to read that he's only 70.

He got 56 minutes which is excellent.
He has good speed and he was extremely diligent in his defensive duties (he often returned to defence before our left back). He is still, however, very shy with the ball and scared of physical content. There is obviously a good player inn him, but he will only come out from the shadows next season, which means that we're used as a training ground for him -and you..

Only natural coming back from a long injury spell, will need to build up the confidence as well as the fitness. I remember when we had Ramsey on loan after his leg break, you could see the talent but was very tentative when ever anyone went near him.

We don't actually know what happened with Omar's leg either.

Presumably whatever happened it was Ok for him playing for BM before signing for us and passing a medical.

yet a few days after training the situation is bad enough for him to be out for the next year.

Quite rightly the club aren't going to say, and if it was because someone scythed into him in training then obviously he's going to be a bit scared - we saw people like Ramsey, Eduardo etc with bad leg injuries still come back but be a bit tentative at first.

actually i'd be more scared if it happened out of nothing, because you can't explain that as much, nor could you necessarily realise how putting your foot down on a run ended up with a leg break. In that case it would imply some underlying issue.

He's got to be better than Taveres...
No, he's not. He did absolutely nothing, and got rightfully subbed at half-time. I'm afraid the only way for him to get his career back on track is to go to a lower league in order to have guaranteed playing time, work his socks off in training to get his athleticism to top level and hope that you'll give him another chance. But not this summer, he will most certainly be unable to cope with the level of intensity in the Premier.

Yes-but could he cope with a wet and freezing night at Stoke or Blackburn?
