The bottom 3 all have difficult fixtures on paper, need to really go for 3 points in this one looking at the upcoming fixtures, being 8 points clear would give a very different complexion and confidence for the future.

What's gone is gone and it's a new start, the players and manager need our full support.

Players need to show respect for Cooper and for Nuno by giving their all.
My concern is that there will be a sizeable number of supporters who fail to show support for the team, and Bournemouth will feed off that emotion.
The key element will be the players' attitudes.
As highly paid professionals, it is incumbent on them to give their all.
As for Nuno, coming in to replace Cooper, he needs to take a leaf out of Emlyn Hughes play-book.
Hughes was brought in to replace tommy smith.
That went down like a pork chop at a jewish wedding among the Liverpool hardcore fans.
Hughes won them round with some crazy antics on the pitch, including riding his opponent piggy-back, earning him the nick-name 2Crazy horse".
I'm not suggesting Nuno does the same to Iraola, but hopefully you all get my drift.

Yep, 3 points incoming. Need to turn the corner.

Must win. Critical. Anything less than a win is a disaster. Ideally win by 2 or more goals.
Definitely need at least a two-goal win, I'm 100% about the PrOgReSsIoN now.

I bet the team stops being leaked now too.

Reading about the housing ladder, I got on the housing ladder after Dad was posted to Korea in the early 50s. He thought he might not come back so took out insurances, I was a beneficiary for one. He came back and when it matured it was exactly the amount needed to pay our deposit on the first house.

Funny how life works out.

Nuno plays 3 centrebacks, it seems like its a none negotiable for him too.

Has it been confirmed that Nuno is our new manager and if so, will he be appointed in time for Saturday?

It’s possible we’ll have a game managed by errrrr…..the tea boy. Hang on a minute, didn’t we sack him too?😝

Officially, no

But no-one was mentioned in the statement as taking charge as caretaker for the Bournemouth game so I'm guessing his appointment is a formality

Also given what kept Cooper in a job last season I doubt he would've been sacked unless Nuno taking over was a virtual certainty

That last point is just my take though

Thanks for replying.

Whether it’s Nuno or someone else they’re either incredibly brave, confident, full of positivity and self assured of their managerial ability or they’re desperate, ignorant, arrogant and a bit of a masochist. 🤣

You're very welcome TBT!

Re Nuno, the phrase "hiding to nothing" springs instantly to mind, but if he thinks he can take us on with all that extraneous stuff going on and improve our fortunes then fair play to him

I suspect his reasoning is more simple: Keep Forest up (should be easy) and finish 10th-15th next season (do-able) and it looks like you've done a solid job, and doors to other PL clubs will open again.

From a purely footballing point of view I've no doubt he's looked at Forest and thought "I can do a job there"

The problem is replacing a guy so beloved by the fanbase, particularly if he gets off to a losing start - not everyone has the internal fortitude to take that kind of situation on

Thanks Cloughie and Congo Red for the repartee.
I laughed for the first time in the new Dark Ages of Anno Dominae Stevie Cooper.
Well, laughter is the best medicine.
Unless it’s for an STD. Don’t laugh at that. Especially in front of your wife.

It’s going to be a strange atmosphere I reckon.

We’ve been there before after a manager has been sacked but this is different. Hughton we were glad to see the back of, Sabri despite a decent run, it was coming. Karanka threw the toys out and it was no surprise. Pearce was a tough one and still my favourite player and that wasn’t easy, but losing Cooper feels different.

Usually we have short memories and a new chap comes in, gets a few results, players make the right noises about enjoying training and we move on. But I don’t think it’s going to be that easy this time

I’ll be there as always. Will MOK be belted out as it has been? Not sure. It’s doubtful. Can we replicate the atmosphere and togetherness that Cooper has given us. I don’t know. Will take a special manager to do that. I hope we find them. I hope we can still be the place where other teams, pundits, commentators come and tell the world what a special place it is.

It’s the hope that kills us

Jeez, I’m melancholic tonight

In a probably should have seen it coming twist of fate, Forest seal the Nuno Herlander Simões Espírito Santo trophy without kicking a ball. Whether that means they have won or lost remains to be seen...
Club announce the prestigious Nuno Herlander Simões Espírito Santo trophy is at stake for this tie. There will be a presentation to the losing side at the end of the game.

His head might look a bit like the World Cup trophy, but a bit harsh to start referring to him as one.
