Have we all forgotten the 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 thumpings from last year or are we suffering from Steve Cooper rose tintedgoggleitis.

You could argue 80% of away games last season were worse performances than yesterday's.

The perception this season (rightly or wrongly) is we think on paper this team should be better than they are performing but results show otherwise. In fact it would now be a major achievement if we manage to get 38 points before the deduction.

I'm happy to explain.

It's because the team were a complete and utter mess with no shape or fluidity and half of them weren't even trying. It led to our worst performance under Nuno and for my money worse than anything since Hughton.

I didn't boo because I'm apathetic about it all but if I gave more of a shit I'd have quite happily booed loudly. Players and manager didn't deserve anything else.

That was worse than Leicester away last year ???It was worse than Fulham away this year ???

Honest question if you are apathetic why even go to the game in the first place? Why post so much on here?

Leicester away last season was reasonably even despite the scoreline. We were more cohesive and made better chances than were/did yesterday.

And to be clear I'm apathetic about this current version of NFFC with a bunch of mercenary players, manager and a thoroughly dislikeable owner, not NFFC in general. My soul aches that our club is currently what it is, especially coming so soon after a likeable promotion squad and manager.

It's incredible just how much the owner and his son's short-sightedness have undone all the excellent work which the Murphs + Coops era did and set up for future seasons.

The gluttony at the club with it's designer signings has been nothing short of crazy. It all really started with Lingard.
I don't actually think that Lingard was our worst ever signing, at the time it signalled intent and probably went some way to attracting other players to sign. Sadly, it didn't work out on the pitch but to his credit he was good around the place, probably not as good as I would have been for 80 odd bags a week but there you go.
The reality is that we shouldn't have signed him, his head had gone before he signed for us bless him but I don't think that he let us or himself down.

That's how I feel. How can we get emotionally invested in the players when half of them won't last more than a season until they're shipped off or dropped for the new shiny players our owners buy every window.

As an individual signing I agree mate, but Marinakis allowing his son to get involved with such ill-researched and ego-driven signings is where the winning formula which got us up started to get diluted IMO.

The odd signing like that whilst the pros do their job is livable, maybe on the odd rare occasion even beneficial, but then the club went into overdrive on the back of fan-hype and...well...here we are lol.

"Nottingham Forest Are Premier League"
The Nuno Espirito Santo Rolling Scorecard 23/24 edition

Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace

A poor home return after the international break as Forest missed an ideal opportunity to get their season back on track.

Forest were woeful in the first half and lucky to be only one behind as they were outclassed by limited visitors. Too slow and ponderous with very little end product going forward, as Forest looked like a team of strangers across the park.

The lads improved after the break and arguably deserved their equaliser, but that was as far as it went, most showing minimal urgency and insufficient drive to apply the pressure to force a winner, almost losing toward the end.

Overall, not even close to good enough and a big opportunity concerningly missed.

Nuno cards a par to remain at +3 par on The Rolling Scorecard.

Trend (last 6 games): W, l, L, l, d, D.

Collymore!

What was Coopers rolling scorecard after his final game? Obviously taking into account his promotion, survival, and sitting higher in the table than we currently are…

I’d personally have NES somewhere closer to 10+ (or failing to make the cut!)

Bournemouth, Blackpool x2, Bristol x2, Brighton, Luton, Palace must all be bogeys, or some doubles!
