Does anybody actually have any knowledge of this guy? Anything positive that will encourage us all?

I must say I've never heard of him, his stats aren't great and fans of Strasbourg say he has a poor work ethic.

That said, i'm sure Sabri has a plan for him and I remain positive. Could he play as one of the 3 behind Grabban?

Club can clearly see something, admittedly its difficult to see what it could be in his stats.

3.5 years on 25k per week, if true, The lads done well for himself there.

I know we keep saying this but this lad (all the videos actually) looks technically and physically competent. He will be superior too many. Be surprised if he doesn't succeed here.

It is not just his speed he uses to get out of tight spaces but he has quick feet and he cushions passes with support and link up. Look from 2:15 in the video above for example.

Never mind that he looks a competitor on the ground and the air.

Tripling his wages and giving him a 3.5 year contract. Someone at the club obviously rates him. Hopefully he can provide a decent enough 2nd option for Sabri.

Where did the 25k per week rumour come from? He's not a 25k per week player, and I'm not talking about his quality (of which I know nothing), but of his perceived value in the market.

That is what he might be questioning. Those contract details.

There was a Google translated article on the previous page which contained 'monthly remuneration of around 125,000 euros' - people have simply divided that into a week and converted to £...

Bottom of previous page. Quote said 125,000 euros a month.

Seems too high to me (would make him one of our top paid players) but then equally if the quote is wrong and it's 125,000 euros a year then that feels too low to be accurate.

There's no way Vrentzos would sign off a contract tripling the wages of a 28-year-old who went from starter to bencher. If he was an up-and-coming youngster, yes, if he was a cheap favour to an agent in the context of another deal, yes, but in this case, no way.

It was that amount for a year the other day. Maybe there's been a mix up. Would explain the GIFs.

Unless he is in fact going to Mark Nottingham instead.....

to practically triple his Strasbourg emoluments.
[my emphasis]

and the base of £8k, (£8k x 3 = £24k etc) will somehow be derived from the 120 euros that it was claimed in some article last week.

That's how forum truth is developed.

Well that's a good sign.

Maybe he's just a twat?

The club needs more twats. It doesn’t have enough.

I’ve offered them a few off here, but they were uninterested, sadly.

This one doesn't fill me with confidence, his stats are poor for an attacker, and usually you can get a gist of how good theyl be from that. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong and smash the league apart, he gets my full support until he proves otherwise.

Or the fact the article stated he will receive €125,000 monthly remuneration.

I always find it interesting how news articles seemingly know wages. Just like they often claim to know fees too.

Sometimes I think it's a case of them reporting specific details to appear as though they have their finger on the pulse.

I bet 'X signs Y for 5m and he's on 35k p/w' gets a lot more reads and future readers than, 'X signs Y'.

It wouldn’t hurt that much if some people on here would trust our manager’s ability to get the best out of players he has already shown.

Lamouchi will know this lad from the French league and Modesto and Anigo are experienced scouts.

It is sadly true that some fans think that they know better than football professionals.

For my own part I will back Vrentos to get a good deal and Lamouchi to make a success of De Sousa.
