Who told Flaggers his cool table membership card wasn't real?!

I think that I might have blown it when I tipped him for fetching the drinks, to be fair I thought that the roller skates were beyond the call of duty.

Got my pack in the mail this morning...

Worse case scenario is I paid £12 for a sticker and a badge. Someone is obviously putting some time and effort in so hopefully something good can come out of it.

Hi CaptainBlack....great to see your pack arrived....lots landing today it seems. It's great to see them landing but just wanted to assure you that although they look lovely this is the 'material' and lesser side of the Trust. Coming soon will be details of the AGM, board elections and, crucially some info on how to get involved as an 'active' member should you wish to do so.

We have some work to do there as there is, it feels, a bit of a feeling that you must be on the board to contribute which is actually a long way from the truth; in reality a huge amount of the drive, ideas and actual work will come from active members and not 'official' board members. It was always the hope that we would be a high performing, highly active trust, so creating the right environment for people to be involved remains key for us as a core working group - it's very much about enabling others - there will absolutely be people out there who can and will step forward as potential board members...but they are by no means any more important than members who play a role from within the member base but not as an 'official' officer.

Much more info to come on this as we move towards the aforementioned AGM.

Thanks for your support so far!

Got mine. Excited by this, we've been far too reactive as a fan base for far too long. Whilst I think his words are a bit too strong, there is a degree of truth in what Stan Collymore said about us not putting up enough of a fight over the past 20 years or so.

It's only a start but it's a step in the right direction and I'm really looking forward to getting involved.

You can't fault the professional approach, nor the feel-good factor which this has raised in some.

If Fawaz had someone interacting with fans like this........

...........and then there'd be far less malice around IMO.

Why do supporters clubs etc always give out those crappy little badges? I much prefer a pen or diary; something useful.

Will take your feedback on the badges valspoodle, difficult to please everyone but we wanted something that could be used to promote the Trust and create a little buzz.

The badges were a decent, very cost effective option and hopefully just provide a bit of 'free' marketing when people are out and about with them displayed.

Thanks for the slightly more positive feedback on the stickers Barry...i'm claiming the glory on that one on the design front, again they were very cost effective and just a little token!

Ultimately, as I think I mentioned previously, these material things are just a few tangible artefacts that pale into insignificance against the real purpose and value of a Trust.

We will be looking to launch a member survey very soon, to get some short term direction for the Trust (i.e. a legitimate mandate) in advance of the AGM and board elections.

One final update on the latter point - we're in conversation with Supporters Direct over the method and timescale for elections - as soon as we have clarity on that we will make it public knowledge, as well as make it clear what the cut off for members would be in order to vote in said elections.

Cheers,

Elliott (NFST)

One other point, and it echoes an earlier post - even though you're an "interim" setup, get your faces out there.

You'll find people much more responsive and willing to engage with a "real person" rather than just a website.

Hey Chris...that's valid and I hear you. I can only speak for myself though. I have done interviews with various media outlets (and one for NottsTV today on the accounts) but others may not be so keen to be in the public domain.

I will, however, raise this at the next interim board meeting. As I say, I would be more than happy to put my name/bio on the website, and I make it no secret who I am but, and this is a big but, it's a fine line between being open and transparent and it becoming about people rather than the wider entity.

I totally understand your point, and if not now then absolutely post elections the identity of the board will be absolutely transparent and easily accessible (it's not a secret now, but I accept it's buried in some old twitter posts!).

I guess in summary I am agreeing with you, but personally rather than on behalf of everyone - if that makes sense?!

Offer from a few pages back stands as well though - I am more than happy to set up and hold a public forum / Q&A in Nottingham to answer questions f2f - not a problem at all.

Actually the worst case scenario is that NFST haven't done their paperwork properly and you've just bought early shares in a company without limited liability that one day may own a football club, which could lead you owing a share of a multi-million pound debt.

But yeah, you've probably just bought a quite expensive badge.

I hear what you're saying but the share that I own only lasts for £12 months, at which point I can choose to renew or otherwise depending upon both mine and/or the club's circumstances.

I'm no expert on these things but ownership of the club is very unlikely to happen within the next 12 months.

Eeek - that sounds scary....

So just wanted to assure you, that we are incorporated as a Community Benefit Society and governed by the rules therein. One of those, cutting through the jargon, means that no member can own more than 1 share, and by owning that share their total exposure is limited to its £1 value. This also works in reverse, in that if the Trust did own shares that were worth a large amount, then no shareholder could 'profit' from those shares - even if in theory their share was worth considerably more than £1.

Hope this helps!
