And... Another thing it could be is that Nuno likes the guy he was going to replace (Worral).
It’s already happened.See Conor Coady at Wolves: I forget where he played previously but Nuno converted him to an England capped sweep.
I'm not suggesting we do the same with Ryan, but think he has the attributes to drop in mid game if a three is required.
Indeed, and under a previous manager too (I forget who - head says Lamouchi though can't think where Ryan was up to then so may well have been Houghton or even Cooper?)It’s already happened.
Fab's as good as given it the here we go on the Zenit front but stranger things have happend.Back to Nino, I imagine the Liverpool noises (along with the Zenit thing) was put out to for e our hand.
You'd imagine the player would fancy the PL over that mess, so let's see what happens (or doesn't).
If we missed out to a prem side I'd be gutted, but missing out to these makes me think that either plans changed due to our new manager or that they tried to change the deal in place and we wouldn't play ball.Fab's as good as given it the here we go on the Zenit front but stranger things have happend.
Him and Marcos Leonardo (Benfica) both going to sides outside of the big leagues in Europe is very surprising- if they both go through. If we missed out to a prem side I'd be gutted, but missing out to these makes me think that either plans changed due to our new manager or that they tried to change the deal in place and we wouldn't play ball.
We were linked with so many young Brazilians I can never remember whether Leonardo was the one that had lots of pens on his record and didn't look great?Him and Marcos Leonardo (Benfica) both going to sides outside of the big leagues in Europe is very surprising- if they both go through.
This comment made me curious to have a look at what kind of players are currently in the Zenit squad.A player, especially a Brazil international coming in to his prime years would have to be mental to sign for zenit, especially in the current climate.
I think they used to get a lot of Brazilian players as they didn’t have issues with work permits from what I remember. But obviously visa rules have changed in the UK now, I think the Brazilian league is now rated higher. I don’t know the specifics though. This comment made me curious to have a look at what kind of players are currently in the Zenit squad.
They have 7 Brazilians! (None are full internationals to the best of my knowledge).
The one I remember hoping we swerved was Matheus Nascimento I think. Leonardo looks good.We were linked with so many young Brazilians I can never remember whether Leonardo was the one that had lots of pens on his record and didn't look great?

Yep same. The one I remember hoping we swerved was Matheus Nascimento I think. Leonardo looks good.
Surely our Portuguese feeder club - Rio Ave should be buying players like himBenfica isn't that surprising for Leonardo. Portugal is a bit of a natural stepping stone for a Brazilian player to break into Europe. Not as much pressure, right language. That kind of thing.

Nascimento hadn't scored enough goals for it to be him, though he didn't impress many - I thought he had potential for the Gibbs White role rather than striker. No idea if it was Leonardo I'm thinking of though. The one I remember hoping we swerved was Matheus Nascimento I think. Leonardo looks good.
