The wages angle is the most pertinent here. Nico probably a median earner in the squad, but given we’ve let Kouyate go I suspect we gain a significant benefit/reduction in wages if we let Nico go and replace our 5th CM slot with an academy player and/or a young acquisition

FWIW the pecking order is probably:

6 - Sangare, Yates
8 - Anderson, Danilo, Dominguez

And obviously Nuno could use any blend of the above depending on what he wants from his midfield

Given Anderson has come in, I don’t think we can support 6 CMs on the wage bill so Dominguez makes the most sense to move on IMO

Yeah I wouldn't sell him for anything like that. I think 5 CMs is ok especially as Anderson is as much one of the 3 in a 4231 as he is one of the 2.

I think we will see MGW orchestrating things from a deeper role in the coming season.
People talking Anderson as a bench option.
Personally, that would surprise me.
I think he will be a regular starter alongside MGW in a 3-4-3 or a 3-5-2.

Not according to Transfermarkt. The loan to Bologna expired on 30th June, and his contract with Bologna started on 1st July.
