New digital platform - ForestTV!

Ifollow have just emailed me to remind me that my subscription is due on the 1st september, price has increased to £140 increase of 25%.
In Thailand where I live there is no EFL coverage, my contract with Ifollow states that I can watch all 46 games.
Last season everytime a Forest game was shown live on TV I had a problem getting video and had to contact the chat line to get connected, therefore missing the start of games.
they refused to connect me for the Huddersfield game and after waiting a week for a reply, I received an email three hours before the Fulham game telling me that the problems had been solved only for them to block from the game again.
Ifollow are the a bunch of useless tossers who cannot run a bath, their chat line is as much use as a chocolate fireguard and I am not paying 25% more for their CRAP SERVICE

I wonder if we will be able to pay for individual matches as no fans in grounds for the first couple of months.

Yeah good luck with that.

I can’t see Sky wishing to cut their own throats commercially, can anyone else?

Interesting. I can cancel NowTV once the cricket season ends.

The statement/quotes are a little ambiguous. It goes from season ticket holders can stream all games to st holders can stream home games.

Now....can we still subscribe to away games; it goes without saying that it could be a confusing mess if we have to organise each away fixture on the away club’s web site. As someone who goes to the vast majority of away games I would be quite willing to shell out £10 per away game (a fraction of the cost of going to normal away games.

I would welcome 20,000 away fans paying us £10 each to watch us play their team at the wfcg and add to our revenue and we should be pleased to reciprocate to help keep the league(s) from imploding with the almost certain closure of loads of clubs.

I've looked at the websites of every championship club and still can't determine whether we are actually paying for this as only two clubs have stated that it is a complimentary thing for season ticket holders. I mean, if this is instead of refunding us for each match that we're going to be unable to attend, I don't really see it as a good deal when I've paid for 4 season tickets and know full well that one of my kids will not watch it as she never watches football on tv, and one of the others is very unlikely to watch for the same reason.

As regards to when crowds are allowed back, I notice that Watford will be having a ballot system that favours season ticket holders. But those chosen will have to pay £20 to attend and will not have a guaranteed seat. I wonder whether Forest will do this and carry over the ST already paid for until 2021-22.

And Huddersfield are charging just £249 for season tickets and guaranteeing a price freeze for the next three seasons.

I contacted their chat in March to stop auto renew of the subscription, which they confirmed was not active on my account. I got an email recently saying they would be renewing my service, so I went to their website and saw their chat was not working. It said to email them to refuse auto renewal of the service, so I did that. The b@st*rds charged my credit card 140 pounds and renewed the service.

It is likely I would have caved in and subscribed again anyways as Forest is in my blood and it bothers me when I don't get to see them play, but I am seriously thinking of starting a charge back through my credit card just to stick two fingers up at iFollow.

Note for anyone viewing via a mobile device:

There are now new apps for IFollow for iOS and Android. These are the EFL‘s own apps for IFollow.

From this upcoming season, IFollow matches will no longer be available via the „Official“ Forest app as they were before. If you’re watching on a laptop or desktop, no change for you.

Details here:

https://twitter.com/nffc/status/1301913232064606209?s=21

Given the incompetence the EFL have previously shown with app development, I’d urge you to test these apps ASAP to ensure your login works (should be the same as you use for the „Forest“ app).

Don’t know if this means the „official“ app will die a death (it’s a bit rubbish anyway and hasn’t been updated for about two years on iOS).

I agree, give yourself a week to work through the incompetence.

Mine suggests that I have "no licenses available" even though it' has already taken the cash for this season!

Also, I just noticed that they took payment on an expired card!

f***ing imbeciles.

Downloaded the App, it seems to be OK... time will tell I guess.

@Redemption, my card had also expired.

I would add, based on ten minutes messing about on iPad:

It doesn’t support picture-in-picture (why the f*** not? It’s 2020!)

It doesn’t support background audio (minimise it, it kills the audio of anything you were watching, like the shit YouTube app does).

It doesn’t support multitasking either, so you can’t have it split-screen with another app.

All of the above are features that have been available for at least 2 years.

For €140 a year, this is absolutely shite, and an outrageous fraud. A chimp could write a better app.

As I've mentioned before, the clubs don't give a shit as they get all the money and it's effectively a free-rent after they've paid a pool-fee to EFL Digital.

EFL Digital don't give a shit because they paid from the pool-fee so guaranteed to make money

It's the worst system possible from a consumer's point of view because neither the developer nor the content owner has an incentive to fix the system.

It wants to access Bluetooth „to discover streaming and audio devices“ but unless I’m blind, there doesn’t appear to be any way to stream a video somewhere else?

This really boils my piss. There is absolutely no excuse for such shoddy application development.

If a Dev Team of ours turned out such a shambles of an app, I’d have then shot.

It shouldn't need Bluetooth to do that as most streaming devices are IP/TCP because Bluetooth doesn't really have the bandwidth to stream... even with the best lossy codecs it still needs a 70% compression rate to stream 2 channels of audio

Yeah, exactly. It’s pointless.

If you recall with the government's "world beating" track and trace app, the Bluetooth permission also permits obtaining the device location... https://www.mobihealthnews.com/news...les-apis-still-collect-android-users-location

Put your cynical hat on and observe that the app provider will know you're sitting in Bestwood despite your VPN claiming it's in Budapest...

you don't say what PC or browser you're using, but afaik, it shouldn't need any codec as the player is using a standard well-distributed codec

have you checked that you have an active subscription?

I'm not sure that is viable for a 3rd party app, because it still needs to go through the permissions function in the API
