Spence, Zinc and Davis may have done well for us this season, or they might not. I personally doubt it but the debate will likely go one forever as there is no way of proving it one way or another. How they did in the champ is pretty irrelevant given the step up, but I can see why people struggle to let go seeing as how dreadful some of our recruitment has been.

(Also Spence clearly didnt want to come which makes the argument even more pointless. The other two maybe did, who knows)

We could have used Davis for his ability to hold the ball up and carry us forward if nothing else.

Probably would have been on the injury list throughout most of the season mind

You’re the one who stated that Neco was at a slightly better level in terms of footballing quality. I think having witnessed Djed last season and Neco this gaslighting is quite the apt phrase.

I’m not accusing you of psychological abuse btw, just the memories or perception of reality bit.

Who knows where their respective careers will end up, neither of us might be here to witness it. All we can really judge it on is what we have seen from both players playing for our club.
This forum is full of red flags.

Quite a few white ones too.

How old is Davis? If we find ourselves in the championship next season, I wonder if we’ll go for him again?
I hope we do. Davis and Awoniyi would be a proper handful. He's 25, coming up to 'prime' years.

yeah no one else is buying him, not for big money anyway, no point in us selling for peanuts.
Unless Union Berlin or one of the other German teams below Dortmund use their Champions League money because of how well he did over there perhaps. However I'm confident he'll be a Forest player next season in my opinion.

He’ll be a right menace in the championship if he stays fit.

85 starts 22 goals

15 starts 5 goals for us, not too shabby, and its daft to discount whatever else he brings because it contributed largely to getting us up. Some players fit, he f***ing loved playing for us that was palpably obvious.

No brainer if we drop. Although Id have been happy had he led the line for us this season.

Don't think Davis is cut out for the Premier League personally. What he did provide though was an outlet that we just haven't had this season. He was a right handful as well which took focus away from Brennan. We haven't had that really this year so it's a simple case of 'stop Johnson, stop Forest'.

Be interesting to see Davis’s stats for the championship only.
I’d be happy to sign him if we go down.

Think Williams could do a very decent job as an inverted fullback which seems to be the new 'thing'. Standard 4-3-3 out of possession that transitions into a 3-2-5 during build up play with one of the fullbacks inverting into the back 3 and one of the fullbacks (Williams in this case) inverting into the midfield alongside a defensive mid (both operating as #8s pushed higher up the pitch while still making sure 1 of the 2 are positioned in preparation to get back behind the ball when needed to nullify defensive transitions)

Obviously not a system you can muster up and coach over night, also relies on a lot of fluidity and understanding between players so no use to a side like us but it's definitely great to watch when it's being executed properly by the big boys

Jeez, I’m sick of hearing about Keinan Davis. I don’t care what else he brings to the team because with only 14 league goals in his career he’s not good enough.
Yeah but he's the Nottingham Forest messiah, scoring a record 5 goals. I fully expect Watford to pay up his contract and give him to us free of charge, despite such a prolific ratio of one goal every 4 games.

Nothing but nothing can stop the return of the messiah, to his spiritual home.

Bit OTT, his name is bearly mentioned, apart from when we discuss the 2 shit recruitment drives attached to this season.

Davis does bring something we havent had this season, he couldnt have done any worse, and wouldnt have cost much.

It's mentioned constantly on here, almost as much as Spence and Garner.

Villa wanted 15m, I think that was the stumbling block Whilst I agree he offers something different, as he did last season, I think there's a bit too much sentiment placed on his time here. I loved Davis, don't get me wrong but I'm also realistic enough to understand that he wasn't worth 15m and his record suggests he's not if truth be told.

I loved his hold up play though, if we had signed him he'd almost certainly be sitting on the sidelines anyway I'd imagine.

Don’t let other people’s views make you sick, Morpeth, alternative opinion is everywhere so it’s not worth it !!

Don't think anyone questions the club walking away because of the quoted figure.

But when we talk about Davis as an option next season that figure won't be the same again. He's another year older, no further PL experience, the excuse of potential wearing thin at 25, and his contact expires in 12 months.

Forest could probably pick him up for £5m-£8m and at that I think it would be a good signing.
