Absolutely right, it is such a tough job for the recruitment team and they are doing a superb job. The fact we are pretty much only half way to even put out a squad tells you how difficult it's been!
Just hope the owners don’t get carried away with expectation and give Steve time. Yes we’ve made some decent signings but staying up will be hard and this squad needs time to gel-I don’t want to see Coops jettisoned for some old seasoned prem tosser by Christmas if we are in the bottom 2.
I hope I’m being ridiculous but his many managers have we had over 20 years snd just as importantly how many time when we’ve made the prem in the past has a manager survived beyond Easter?

Has he singed yet?
What a fantastic recruitment drive this has been so far. It's a huge task to build a PL side virtually from scratch but the club has been going about it calmly, methodically and with a very sharp focus on both the way Cooper wants to play and the overall strategy of bringing in young players with potential to increase in value. Yes, we're paying high prices, but that's what has to be done to create a competitive side at this level. And all the signings have a reasonable prospect of holding or increasing those values.
Also: forget the money, we're getting to see exciting footballers wear the Garibaldi. It's going to be fun.

Yep, the club have been exemplary in how they have gone about business this summer. Such a refreshing change of pace from years gone by!

It's a legitimate concern - but probably would have been more likely if we hadn't backed him with signings.

I banged him in when he was at Liverpool hoping to have 3 Forest players already and glitching the FPL matrix allowing me to have 4 Forest players once Neco became ours. Alas, Omar is still not inducted into FPL in time and now I doubt I'll be able to test my hypothesis.
Hope you put MGW in too!

I'm going to create a no change team which includes as many Forest players as possible considering who we've been linked to. Just wish I did it earlier to get Henderson.

I always go premium on midfield, but I do have 1 space for him if I do decide to drop Newcastle's Bruno. He was a gem after January though and it's only a 0.5m saving so I don't think he will make the cut.

And we can't just compare our recruiting to previous Forest sides. Look at how we are building compared to so many other sides who have gone up. WE are, quite literally, breaking the template and devising a new way. I know it has to work on paper too, and there will undoubtedly be a few stumbles. But we should be a mid table team. Murphy and Cooper---we are so lucky to have these two running things.

I think they value him as much as supporters do, EM was comparing him to Clough after the promotion, even some of supporters don't do that.

EM has always given time to managers that he knows are quality. He is just very quick to bin off ones which he knows aren't.

One or two suggesting we will battle it out in mid-table. Based on last seasons standings, this is Wolves, Brighton, Palace and Newcastle.

Of course, I don't know much about the new signings beyond YT videos and press reports but, based on what we have today, I still feel we're a some way below the squads listed above. There's one or two decent managers in that mix too.

If we sign an experienced/good quality midfielder and add creativity, and the new signings hit the ground running and stay relatively injury free, then maybe. Or, something deeper clicks and we start to defy gravity by sheer will.

It's all about mid-table...
We still need a couple more bodies, for certain. But the tact of bringing in tired old mediocre 30 somethings has never been a good formula, and I am glad we are not following it. I think people are going to be surprised how good Awoniyi and Niahkate are.
If they're as good as Yates and Yates they'll do for me mate.

Super excited now our defence is near enough sorted, and love the sort of players we're going for.

I agree that while we should be aiming higher, I'd still be over the moon with 17th next year. We have to remember that as soon as we won the final, our starting team was 4 or 5 worse off, so we had plenty of catching up to do, even to make it up to where we were with the loans.

Debbie downer aside, I've never been so excited about a transfer window. We've been so busy that I fear for our sanity if we go a week without credible rumour.

Good afternoon everyone. Now that Neco Williams has finally signed for the club, here’s a short video breaking down everything you need to know about him and why he’s the perfect fit for Nottingham Forest. The lad has a contagious personality and I could quite easily see him becoming a fan favorite in due course. As always, happy to answer any questions you may have and would appreciate hearing any thoughts you may have, cheers and have a great week!

Not sure why you think this window is more exciting than when we brought Gomis and Fox in.
