Someone previously said this reminded them a bit of Southampton’s signing of Van Dijk in 2015, before he moved on to Liverpool for £75m. Without saying I believe he’ll reach VVD’s levels, I have a feeling that this may turn out to be the bargain of the summer for us.

So happy with this, best signing yet. We’ll be a lot more comfortable at the back with his pace and power!

The more I see and hear the more I like. Seems like a top fella and one that is eager to do well.

I wonder whether Cooper will hand the captaincy on to Moussa, or leave it with Joe?
It may seem obvious that Joe retains it, so Moussa can settle into England, the Prem, and the Forest/Copper way, but Moussa was Captain at Mainz, and a very good one at that.

Leave it with Joe.
Not sure much good would come from taking the captaincy away from him for a Newbie...

No chance Niakhate gets it.

Assuming Grabban is off then it's Worralls for the season with one of Yates, McKenna or Colback I reckon for vice.

When you have a bunch of leaders in a team, although there is a team captain who goes up for the pre-kick off party, there are leaders for each part of the team, like Rugby.

I thought the plan would be to move McKenna to the middle but he looked really good in the middle - he is so aggressive and quick.
I said early on I thought he'd play central because of his pace. Leaving Mckenna to the left of him with his left foot and Wozza to right leaves a nice balance with NKatz able to cover as and when with his pace.

Interesting to see if he keeps central, as his athleticism and composure means he very confident at bringing ball out from a more wider position and cud potentially play as LWB if we are short. Obviously lose some of that if more central but his pace will be crucial then in covering Worral n McKenna if needed and will the commander in there.

He's excellent isn't he?? He gives us the extra dimension we lacked last season when he steps up into the back of midfield.

Do now I get to say „I told you so!“ then, for once?

Really liked this lad when I saw him play, when Forest were linked, I thought he would be an ideal fit, and he has all the tools too. Great reader of the game, quick, mobile, strong, good leadership skills and he never shuts up bossing people about.
