This is getting silly now, if true. £30m was difficult to swallow, £40m is insanity and we will have had our pants well and truly pulled down if we pay that.

I agree, big fan of MGW and think he's got bags of potential but £40m is just ridiculous. I'd much prefer we use that money to push for Garner + a big troublesome #9
We've been shrewd with our signings all summer, spunking £40m on MGW seems strangely out of character compared to the rest of our business
Part of me wonders if EM is pushing this one so hard because he knows its the man Cooper wants most, and he did promise to back him with whatever he needs to succeed. After all the reason Cooper left Swansea was because he wasn't being backed financially to achieve his vision

I love Cooper I really do but if the sticking point to him signing a new deal is spending 40 million quid on a lad who is probably worth half of that I’d be asking questions if I was EM.
