MISSING: Matty Fryatt

Wasn't there also the rumour that they operated on Jack Hobbs' wrong leg or something?

That whole regime was inept and it spread throughout the club. It really annoys me seeing comments on the Fawaz thread about how "oh he was inept but he loved the club etc etc"

But to answer your question, I think there was but obviously we'll never know the truth

I guess the point was that he was incompetent but didn't do it out of malice, he just didn't have a clue. Not like previous regimes asset stripping or people looking to use the club as a cash cow. He wasn't fit to be the owner but not in the same way as the guy from Carlisle, the people who had Notts, or Portsmouth.

I suppose that's the point. And you could in fact argue that it was under Davies that all the people from the previous regime (Pelling, Clark, Arthur) who at least did run a football club properly, were dispensed with because he allowed a manager who was clearly unhinged and his banned solicitor friend to advise him which involved removing most of his previous grudges. However, once Price and Davies had gone, he then had to find his own people, struck gold with Faulkner, who then clearly decided it wasn't for him when they sacked his mate. Most of the abject incompetence came after then, which was not too far off after he tried to sell the club to EM the first time, then JJM.

But then it all depends how you see the progression. Sacking Cotterill was clearly the right move, and it's clear O'Driscoll wasn't first choice (though it now seems they wanted Coppell), but that first few months was good, then they started playing tinkerman with McLeish (who was always toss and never going to work out, they just liked him because he got a side promoted and was ex Man U) before succumbing to the fans' pressure to appoint BD and then Psycho...

Don't see the intentions as being dishonourable, despite the evident incompetence.

It's not possible to asset strip a Championship club that doesn't have any parachute payments, so clearly yes it was incompetence rather than malice, but the incompetence was staggering and resulted in us wasting five years and then gave the next guys a harder job to recover from, all the while trashing the clubs name.

I'd rather we never had to mention him again frankly.

I suppose if Emad operated on Fryatt, then things might have gone wrong. But if a bona fide Doctor looked after him, why should Fawaz have made any difference?

"Forest's lack of understanding and their ignorance to it is so hard to take. They don't want to take responsibility"

??????

Matty, it was f***ing years ago and everyone involved was either sacked or has left. Of course we're not going to take responsibility.

It's only because the doctors who treated him are now advising the government on their Covid 19 strategy.

It will be interesting to see how far this gets and if we get a further glimpse behind the scenes from that era in open court.

I could easily see EM defending it on point of principal, as he does have pretty close to a 100% win rate in the legal stakes.

“I” rested and then played on Saturday.

He injured himself “jogging”.

And Forest got you surgery and it didn’t work very well so it’s all our fault?

Santi Cazorla nearly had his leg amputated and managed to get back playing in La Liga in his 30s.

f*** Matt Fryatt.

Surely you have to consent to any medical procedure, knowing the risks?

Injured before he came here , injured whilst here and injured after leaving here. We're just part of his timeline.

Pretty mental that he's back at his current level. Scoring regularly in La Liga and playing in four recent wins for Spain before the lockdown aged 35 is pretty impressive, even before his near amputation, gangrene and two-year lay off are taken into consideration.

Paid for two years during his treatment, payment for the surgery and, apparently, he forced himself, in pain, to try and 'run it off'.

Perhaps, during that odd time, there was no one to pat him on the head and kiss it better, but they continued to treat him. A bit more proactive and slightly less feeling sorry for himself?

It's all about mid-table...
Or the supporters will end up paying for it as most of the biscuit garbage we've had to endure, whilst they keep getting bankrolled.

Why is it whenever anyone makes a legal claim nowadays they always include “I wouldn’t want it to happen to anyone else”. At least just be fuckin honest and say “I want a big pile of bloody cash”. All this shite about doing it for the benefit of mankind. Just feck off, take some more money and go away.

That tattoo on his ankle in the picture was actually originally done on his arm, but his injury was so messed up, they had to take a skin graft from his arm or something.

Mad that he came back from that injury, let alone played top level football again. I’m glad, he’s a pleasure to watch.

That is inspirational stuff.

It's a ridiculous comeback from Santi, isn't it?

One guy nearly lost his leg and he's back captaining one of the very best national teams. The other guy gave up on football and went to buy a Toyota in his pyjamas.
