McCLAREN

I'm Red Till Dead

Stuart Pearce
Other than important competition results, most fans remember the results against their local rivals, and follow the fortunes of their local rivals. City remember the wins against Man U, Spurs the wins against Arsenal, Arsenal the wins against Spurs, Everton the wins against Liverpool. Many Everton fans wanted their team to lose to a Man U recently to help stop Liverpool winning the title. Notts C fans continue to celebrate a win against their local rivals from two decades ago.

Forest fans talk about the night they beat their local rivals 5-2 and Osborn’s last minute winner at their rivals ground. Forest fans also celebrate the time their rivals lost to a last minute goal in a play off final, and the time they accrued the lowest points total in history.

Some fans may view the games against Derby as just like any other game, but most fans don’t. Whilst technically the 5-0 equalled our worst ever result against them, no one is still alive from that day over a century ago. Our (joint) worst ever defeat against them is as bad as it gets.

But with respect Ravi earlier you said it was the most humiliating defeat in our 150 year history not in local rivalry, or recent memory or your opinion. I'd argue that the early defeats to Derby may have been just as humiliating to the fans at that time. As I said that 8-1 tops it for me.

anyway. thats me dropping out of this now as I have stuff to take care of. Enjoy your evening and hopefully we will get the right result tomorrow. COYR!

I think the thing that really got me about the 5-0 loss was McClarens smug post match interview whilst sipping on a cup of coffee. Who does that on live TV? At the time I was convinced he was put up to it to reference the coffee cup game.

I just typed out a big reply and can't be bothered to type all out again BUT most I ever remember being humiliated by a football match was losing 4-0 at home to Scunthorpe. In league one, live on sky and suddenly everyone I knew realised just how crap Forest ahd become

They had Billy Sharpe and Andy Keough upfront and not much else. We got torn to shreds by Cleveland Taylor. Out team on paper should have walked it

Smith - ex prem keeper
Curtis - once tipped to be england captain
Morgan - future prem winner
Breckin - got promoted to prem with wigan
Perch - went on to play in prem with newcastle
Bennett - personally I never rated him but still a much loved local lad
Commons - WAY too good for league one, went on to be successful in championship and for Celtic
Gary Holt - former scotland international
Southall - ok nothing stands out about him
Grant Holt - went on to play in prem
Lester - considered almost a club legend, although again I was never a huge fan

Destroyed on the TV, up there with Woking away, Chester away and Oldham away

With the derby one it was horrible, truely horrible, but everyone knew our manager was leaving, we has insane injuries, Moussi could barely move, rookie centre back, rookie keeer, Greening about to retire, Jara playing to not get hurt, main striker Cox who moved to league one right after etc. Derby were the best footballing side in the division at the time who sensed blood. It was horrible, but we remained 8th in championship. To me it wasn't as bad as a 4-0 home defeat to Scunthorpe that highlghted to the whole country just where Forest were as a club.

4pts from the last 30 now. 1 win in 10 games.

"Win machine"

He's temporarily forgiven for achieving his one win in ten (I think UB40 wrote that song about McClaren) against Leeds. He'll continue up until QPR are on the outskirts of the relegation zone, get the sack, take his payoff, and move onto another 'Destroy and Exit' next season.

I always think it's like Mr Colman saying he made his money from the mustard people leave on the side of their plate. Mac has made more money by getting sacked than he ever made whilst in employment.

Where's me hammer?
QPR got him for one reason, to end the curse at the WFCG.

He will always remain QPRs greatest manager.

Alf stuck a pin into his "not Billy Davies" voodoo doll.

Dougies eyes, McLaren's hair island, Cotterill mouth and nose. You know it.

Maybe he's waiting until Billy has caught him up before he wins again.

All part of the master plan, I'm sure. He's resting his best players for the start of next season.

In League One.
