McCLAREN

I used to love to leave the match and get my car radio on a.s.a.p. to listen to BD
I listen to SM and he does not inspire me at all.
After the result today Colin Fray said on Radio Nottm that there seems to be something missing.

Well I'll tell all you SM fans that it is PASSION & INSPIRATION. SM does not possess these qualities. Thats why these same players as last season are not performing. I used to be a sales manager and make people feel as though they want to go out and perform, but you have only got to listen to him droning on. Thats why England got rid of him.

My new neighbour is a Boro' fan and he tells me they were all happy when he left and that he is only any good when he has money to spend !!! Well he ain't going to get what he wants out of ND.

It is now becoming clear that getting rid of BD when he had one year to run on his contract was a foul up. I just hope ND does'nt live to regret it because I think the rest of us will. If ND is such a shrewd businessman how come he makes mistakes we mere mortals would not.

I know we could'nt get BD back, but, he has'nt got another job yet.

I'll bet he is up there across the border knocking back a few malts with the payoff he got from ND and laughing his socks off.

But when the laughter has died down I think BD would feel for the players he knew well and got them to play above themselves.

When we were losing matches at half time I always felt we would fight back in the second half. I dont know what BD said, but they used to come out roaring like lions and put the opposition on the back foot. 36 games unbeaten at home, and what does ND do. SACK HIM. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I look forward to hearing comments.

Personally I think ND should sell the club, get rid of MA (a pain in the arse to BD) and get a manager with fire in his belly.

Agree. When he came McClaren said he has nothing to prove. He has NO MOTIVATION and nothing to tell to his players. Did you see him today shaking his head in disappointment and embarrassment? FFS he had lost the game before it finished!!! Never saw that kind of attitude from Billy!

If we sack McClaren now no decent manager will touch us with a barge pole. We're stuck with him.

We just need a man who can motivate the players, inspire them. The promotions of Blackpool, Swansea and Norwich should be an example. They spent a few but had very good ambitious managers who maximized their players' abilities.

You are correct WAN...but there is also the question for SM of HIS reputation.
If?....he was lied to at his appointment about the war chest available then he might decided to cut and run now rather than get caught in a trap that is going to end up making him look worse.
If he walks on Monday some blame will be directed at the club, BUT if he lingers and it festers until him being fired in November he gets more blame.

Steve needs to ask him self if he thinks he can make this work with what he as at the moment. If no then he needs to walk. For his everybody's sake.

This was the same issue he had at Wolfsburg.

He'd won the Eredivise with Twente (and reached the Dutch Cup final) but walked into Wolfsburg and - having to deal with a difficult and unsupportive board - failed to motivate a Wolfsburg side and was sacked after a few months.

It's unlikely Forest will sack him, but I'm sure when he looks at himself in the mirror tomorrow morning he's going to seriously wonder what he can achieve with the current squad, a squad which looks ever increasingly unlikely to be strengthened before January.

Apparently the players at Wolfsburg got him out. Like when Megson left.

Billy Davies would come back if paid enough, f*** this bollocks about his pride. He knows that saving us from relegation would now be deemed as success - and he'd be doing this with essentially the same side he took to 2 playoffs, but with Miller up front!!

think about it - your sacked from a job earning 20k PA where your target was finishing top 6 in your sales team out of 20. 3 months later your unemployed and the same employer calls you back offering you 25k PA to finish top 10 in that same team. its a no brainer.

the only pride stopping this from happening is the same pride that f**ked it all up - prick off all prick nigel doughty

if we do sack schteve f***ing numpty mcclaren, then we should just go for a lower league maanger, as the manager's we seem to appoint, except billy, just burn and burn and burn at forest.

i fully agree with the post, mcclarens attitude and desire to win today was non-existent. And he says that was unacceptable? Does that mean he's going to change tactics defensively and we suddenly keep a clean sheet next saturday? I wouldn't bet on it, i cant see our defence improving, unless we sign players which wont happen.

The pwoers to be are ruining our club. They f**ked it up gettin us into league one, they f**ked it up getting rid of the best manager since cloughie, and they f**ked it up employing a numpty who has no passion in his yorkshire frigging body.

From what I am hearing from people at the game today (on various threads) it almost appears that SM had thrown in the towel before the game started.
Surely if we get hammered by the Barcodes midweek (as we probably will) his position becomes untenable.
How the hell is he going to motivate them against Twatford?

That's what worries me LJR.

A defeat against Noocastle and another against Watford would surely make his position untenable, wouldn't it?

sack the twat now, it will at least give any new manager a chance to save us from the obvious relegation fight this season will be, but no doubt we won't have the balls to sack him and i'm afraid we are stuck with him.

Hes' already said that he thinks he can get the current squad to mid table. I think he's probably about right. The strange thing is Davies said he could get the squad to the play offs, which he did. They both seem aware of their respective abilities...

Think we'll have to be happy with mid table. The gates will fall, more will lose interest and expectations will fall. That might be the best thing for the club. Write this season off and hope they go for it next season.

Nigel doughty - "Billy Davies was unlucky to lose his position and unlucky in two play-offs, when we came close. In the end we felt that, to motivate the squad for a third time, under the same sort of leadership, would have been difficult."

So hows that motivating working out nigel?

Its just really hard to swallow, that after the last 2 years, all the work thats been done, then all the big talk this summer....that we now f***ing aspire (or hope and pray) to be a mid table team.

Well done forest.

The only posotive thing I can say - is that if Mclaren really is the good manager that our chairman says he is -then now is the time to show it by getting us out of this mess, or effectively his career is over not to mention his so called reputation in tatters.

I was gutted Billy got sacked- but sadly we are..where we are....never thought i'd miss hearing those famous words "Acquisitions panel"!

I miss some of Billy's funny interviews. But TBH if we are winning games the manager could talk for 5 minutes about their morning bowl movement.

As a lifelong Forest fan, all I can say is there has never been a time when I have felt so depressed about state of the club - even in the dark days of Mystic Megson. As a Company Doctor, having had a look at the last 3 years accounts, and understanding how earning streams, costs, cash flow and debt servicing work the only option I beleive that remains is for the club to placed into Administration. Debt would be settled at a rate of x pence for each pound and a new owner could then address the issues of sorting out the business and the football.

The problem with this is virtually all our debt is owed to one man - Nigel Doughty.

He is the clubs sole shareholder and he isn't going to accept any attempt at a takeover or any return on his investment that it less than the actual value he's put in.

He has no need to sell the club, it's his plaything.
