Will be interesting to see if we decide to make him captain. I think he might make a good captain, or at least until Cohen/Reid come back (if they ever do)

Might be a good idea for Dougie to break up the (perceived) player power of the dressing room by getting his own guy as captain. Reid, Cohen and Hobbs all failed to stop Lansbury and Paterson from drowning kittens, maybe Mills will.

Sadly I don't think anyone will take Hobbs off our hands, due to his injury record and wages.

Tbh, I aint that sad about that. Hobbs is a good player and, now that we may have finally landed a setup that can be in place for more than 6 months, the proper monitoring & fitness setup - seen through to completion - may have him come back as a valued contributer.

It may not of course, but it definitely hasn't helped our more biscuity players have to be re-assessed every 6 months. Some who could push themselves previous would have thought "why bother? In 6 months I'll be back to square 1 anyway" At least now there's a chance of some reward for them if that effort is recognized.

I hope we can somehow fix Hobbs, when fit he is a good player in this league. I can't see it myself, but as he isn't going anywhere hopefully we can do something with him, even getting about 20-ish games out of him could prove to be valuable.

Well, Burton have taken Sick-note Matty Fry.

Free agent though, he doesn't require a transfer fee and is in no position to demand big wages. Hobbs, on the other hand, has a year left on a very lucrative contract here which he will sit out unless someone is daft enough to come close to matching his wages.

Thought he looked our best defender when he was subbed on. Actually won balls in the air and was first to them.
