Would like to see Dominguez and Gibbs White in midfield on Tuesday with Reyna in front.

No thanks.

Not getting the clamour to move MGW back. We didn't exactly create any chances after we scored did we and MGW created that chance for the goal from a more advanced position.

Center midfield was a disaster yesterday that needed addressing but long term solution is to simply play one of Danilo or Dominguez alongside Yates to help speed up passing out of central areas.

MGW needs to play as the #10. Elanga wide right, CHO wide left. Reyna from the bench. Origi not in the squad.

That would be my line, would go Dominguez to start ahead of Danilo purely for being better with the ball, Danilo always feels 50/50 whether Forest keep posession or not. We need to play with energy and tempo to get results.

A big part of MGW looking so good in a deeper role was that Palace were happy for him to spangle about running laterally because they knew every pass through the middle would come back to him, or would lead to CHO facing a triple team.

The Dan/Dom one is interesting, as what Danilo offers more of is early (and mostly good) forward passing. Agree on the possession thing, but he's a more dynamic passer than Dom, and perhaps a more natural fit for the role?

Just seen someone on twatter saying MGW needs to play in the quarter back role.
I have no idea what that is and I don't want to know but anything that puts a f***ing American football role into a football team is a no for me I mean what could it mean he kicks it once then has a massive break for ages maybe grabs a coca cola off the bench to advertise it for a while while everyone looks at a whiteboard with arrows on it
f*** OFF 🤣🤣🤣

Seen more cheerful posts on the Julie Wesson Facebook page than on here.

Anyone would think you've just been battered,in the relegation places and lost half a team due to injury.

A few random thoughts from yesterday.

We struggle to create in the final third. The midfield was ponderous yesterday. Inevitably it becomes 'out wide and try and cross it' or 'chip it up to Wood'. With the players we have we can do better than that by passing quickly and accurately to feet, and through the middle (but without Taiwoo we do lack pace through the middle). CHO and Elanga have a knack of finding the first defender with an attempted cross, and that has become a feature of how we play. MGW, Danilo, Dominguez are all bright, energetic footballers and I want to see them play together.

Reyna looks like a footballer. I was impressed with his cameo.

Murillo is the best passer of a football I have ever seen in a Forest shirt. Could we find him a midfield role?

I was again impressed with the guy who kept goal for Belgium is their last two internationals. Matz Sels has quick feet, and he distributes the ball well (much better than Henderson who, during his spell with us, top was most adept at finding touch).

Chris Wood scored a terrific goal. Just a class finish from what was a difficult opportunity.

The BBC MOTD edit was pathetic (as is the whole show when Lineker is not presenting it, he is the highlight). Too much talk and not enough football is a general theme but, like Football Focus, it has not only too much talk but talk that is so puerile that I now find it difficult to watch. NB I am deliberately not naming any particular presenter here.

I walked around the TE after the match and I was impressed with the signage for the Museum (and shop) and the two new Leg Ends Lounge entrances. It all looks rather smart.

A final point: the water tanks at the TE/BC corner form a bottleneck and, not for the first time, I saw a bit of pushing and shoving going on. There have been significant improvements made in the way that pedestrian flows are managed around the ground, but these tanks do anything but improve it. I imagine they are replacing the soon to be demolished 'tank house' at the TE/BC corner, pitch side (which always looked daft anyway) bit they are a bit of a bloody nuisance.

We had so much possession yesterday and unfortunately it doesn't suit us. We have to go back to the low block because we don't know how to break teams around the box or final third.
There is truth in this.
Elanga does his best work on the break, yesterday he had three players to get by so had a difficult game whereas if he has space its a completely different story.
I personally don’t want to see the low block ever again but it did serve a purpose where our fast breaks bought us chances.
No chance of that yesterday though as Palace did a great job of covering all of the final third with 9 men giving the likes of Elanga little chance to shine.
We did see some good passing in spells which I thought were an improvement but as per usual ended all the good work with a wayward pass to the opposition.
Nunos mark is being made but I’m not sure we have too much more time left to take it any further.
Onwards and upwards :)

It's naff terminology but it basically means a player who sits deep, dictates the play through picking (usually long) passes. Don't think it would work for us and don't think MGW would be the one to do it.

It's a straight red 🟥 offence in my book 🤣🤣
But yeah I kinda guessed it was him sitting deeper MGW from open play is fine where he is although what hold he has on every set piece is still blowing my mind that ball neco whipped in first time yesterday was beautiful he must of earned a shot at a few set pieces

That’s the problem mate. The players expect relegation. Nuno plays risk averse football every single first 45 mins. It speaks volumes
Yep, which might be OK (if somewhat boring) if we managed to keep a clean sheet but it doesn't work so we end up trying to come back from behind. Start with our best 11 and letthe opposition have to fight back from being behind.....

The referee was complicit in the timewastimg though - it was as much him chatting to players and not being in position as the opposition letting it tick. Took him well over a minute to whistle to restart play at a couple of points... and you can't restart play until he's done that. (and lol at the two minutes injury time first half - the ref himself wasted double that).
My favourite stoppage was the one towards the end of the first half where Palace were allowed an impromtu drinks break prior to taking a freekick following an offside.

Or the chap who had cramp after 55 minutes.

Have we got players that can actually win games? Yes of course we have. Which is why I’m beginning to question Nuno because he’s not getting results… the very reason SC got sacked for.

Is Nuno negatively charging the players for the first 45? It’s outrageous if that’s the case. Can you imagine his team talk “only get forward if you categorically have the opportunity” that appears to be happening because f*** all got created again.

If he doesn’t drastically change his approach on Tuesday we get exactly what we deserve

I don't get what is going on with Dominguez. In a 2 in central midfield it's him and one other, just based on workrate and ability on the ball. I'm scratching my head why thats not the case.
While I agree I think Nuno is favouring the bigger lads for a physical advantage. For me hes trying to keep us threatening while stemming the set piece giveaways.

I'd have him or Dani start v Fulham.

This has some merit. Origi is probably far better taking up the role of a 300lb offensive lineman than right winger. 🏈
