We've got to face facts. It would be quite a surprise if we won, Luton are surely favourites to win this. Premier League 2nd season syndrome strikes again
The only thing that makes me think we might get something is because we are the underdogs and expected to lose.
All season luton have played smart and brave and they look like the team playing their second premier league season.
Unless something changes drastically in the squad in the next few days we are going to be preparing for the championship again next week

With them already able to draw level with the game in hand and point deduction looming, this is the first real must win game of the season for me. You can be sure they will be on the attack so we need to start with CHO and Elanga to exploit the space.

If Nuno sets us up for this one with another 'must not lose' mentality, we deserve to be relegated.

The rescheduled Bournemouth game (after Lockyer collapsed in the original one) is on Wednesday.

A win for Luton would put them onto 24 points and increase their GD by at least 1, which would make it at least level with ours. They've already scored more than us, and a win will mean that figure increases even more.

So that will mean without a points deduction we will start this match in the bottom 3.

If Luton lose vs Bournemouth then it's also likely we will be below them as we get the points deduction the day before (assuming this is the outcome).

Luton haven't won in their last 6. They're getting some fortunate draws, they barely touched the ball vs Palace whilst, for long periods, Forest were the better team vs Brighton.

They have fight. We have better quality. We must bring the fight. We must hold our nerve. We can beat them, and there's no real reason to suggest we can't.

Luton then follow up with Spurs, Arsenal and Man City whilst we play Palace, Fulham and Wolves at home. If we beat Luton and win/draw some of those home games we should enter the final 6 with a cushion that will be insurmountable.

All is not lost. But huge performance is needed. Huge.

Boly to come in for me. He's a leader and wins the ariel battles in the box. He's also a leader, it might have gone unnoticed but he went out pretending to warm up yesterday and stood himself down the touchline organising our defence.
Absolutely, Notch.

Boly and Murillo at CB. Elanga and CHO back on the flanks

For the first time this season - I am worried we might get relegated.
The non sending off was a smokescreen for an abject performance. After playing well against some of the top teams - without getting what we deserved - we got exactly what we deserved yesterday
We didn't show up against a team that were there for the taking - play like that on Saturday and we will lose and I am not sure if there is a way back from that.
We need a big week and a big performance - no excuses -the whole squad is fit and available for selection. NES needs to get his selection right and the team needs to go and there and fight for the victory we desperately need.
Luton 1-3 Forest

On a good note they are shitting it just as much as we are and think there going to lose and can't believe how lucky they were Saturday to get a draw

Hopefully a couple of things in our favour then.

- Luton less fit(although said same for Brighton)
- Being in bottom 3 might be the wake up call we desperately need.

These are wank , we will win.

As much as we have been toothless in some games and not been at it for 90 minutes when it comes down to it I fully expect us to be beat this lot.

If we go here and win we then have a break to clear our heads ready for back to back wins against Palace at home then it starts looking a little better.

Against Brighton we shouldn't have lost, we certainly didn't deserve to lose against Liverpool the week before. Sooner or later the tide will turn and things will go our way, thats what I have to keep telling myself anyway.....

Definitely Boly back in, he is the experienced head we need right now in the team and rarely has a bad game.

Biggest worry for me (other than will we turn up for it) is the midfield, I'm not particularly confident of any pairing. We turn over possession continually, I still don't think we have 1 standout nailed on player who is a guaranteed pick in the middle, and when you think the money we've spent and amount of players brought in it's pretty telling!

That's what I have been telling myself for the last 6 weeks.
Yesterday really jolted by belief - we just never created anything against a team out of form and tired - not good enough
I still believe we will survive - but we are now into must win territory
We have to play all of the teams around us - it is our hands - but we need to start winning now

Good to see nobody has thrown the towel in yet despite us not being in the relegation zone once this season

Only Luton having a game in hand is potentially keeping us out at the moment though. Even if Luton lose or draw (which admittedly is more likely than them winning) what will happen in the next week will probably then define if we start this match in the relegation zone or not.

Certainly if we get docked 3 points we will drop to level with Luton if they lose vs Bournemouth and will then just be above them on GD. 6 points off will take them above us by 3 points but then if we win against them we will be above them again.

Then there's Everton's 2nd case - is this being heard later or are both decisions being announced at the same time? If they get docked 6 points too it will put them onto 19 and below Luton's 21.

There are so many factors and it will probably be clearer what we have to face by the time we play this.

However all of the clarity points to us absolutely needing to win this and the return fixtures vs Everton, Burnley and Sheff Utd, which only got us 5 points in the early season.

At the moment we have 24 points from 28 which is a bit below the 1 per game which is usually the figure however to finish above Luton's current rate will probably need a bit less. If we work to 35, then that's another 11 points, which is 3 wins and 2 draws. It's achievable but those 4 must win. If we get points docked then that increases the number of wins we need...

We have to set up 4-2-3-1. CHO and Elanga down the wings. Wood or Taiwo up top.

And Sangare has to start if we want to have any hope of keeping possession ticking in the middle of the park.

Get after them from the first minute. Move the ball forward quickly and get bodies forward in support.

And they looked, and they saw the opening jaws of the bottomless pit, its blackness blacker than Owd Beelzebub's coal hole.
The cavernous opening drew them in, inexorably.
The gravtational pull was irresistable, and with eyes widening, and every muscle and sinew striving to avoid it, they felt themselve drawn over the event horizon and they stretched and elongated as the supermassive blackhole they had been dallying with enslaved them, taking them down to their fianl doom... to be continued.

The odds on our relegation have actually lengthened over the weekend. SkyBet had us at 15/8 on Friday, and it's now 2/1.

It will be interesting to review those odds in 7 days time-when Luton have played their game
in hand, faced Forest and we probably know our points deduction.
Those 2/1 odds look tempting to me (fortunately I’m not a gambling man and I wouldn’t bet
against Forest anyway).
