Yorks Chairman : What will your strategy be Mr Arthur? Got any campaigns in mind?
MA : Oh yes, first one is 'We're serious about promotion'.
YC : Err... we're in the CC Division One already.
MA : Sexy sight screens?

Good luck to him.

It was a pretty tragic time all round for a while, and lets not forget he lost a really close friend and confidant whilst having to steady the club.

It was right that he moved on, if not the manner he was sacked, but lets assume he played his part in ensuring the takeover went smoothly. I wish him well in his new role.

Arthur will be telling the Yorkshire fans that they're going to sign Graham Swann and Samit Patel next.

Love him or hate him, Marthur was a human being.
Nigel Doughty was his friend, and he died suddenly.
Love him or hate him, the sale of the club went through Marthur.
We could be a lot worse off than we are now. A little bit of human dignity isn't too much to ask, is it?

As much as I'd like to be dignified, considering what he had done to this club, I'm going to maintain a level of not giving a f***!

Doughty was a big loss to his family more so than Marthur and lest be honest, we are all in the same or similar position one way or t'other, yet I am sure he wouldn't share the same dignity!

Tell me what good he done to the club to deserve at least some recognition?

If you feel he doesn't deserve recognition it begs the question why you'd bother posting in a thread about him :)

You are quite right.

Despite his best efforts we have somehow managed to stay in the Championship. :)

It's funny how these corporate types like marthur always seem to resurface somewhere else whether they have been succesful or not elsewhere. It seems like one big murky world of contacts and bullshit that once you are a member you never lose your place despite from the outside looking in a lot of the people in corporate bullshit land only seem to have bumbling incompetence, lack of embarrassment and a thick skin as strings to their bow.

This. Once you've been a CEO somewhere, it doesn't seem to matter how well you do your job or how many times you get sacked, you can always walk into another CEO position. A bit like being a football manager...
