Talking of which. Saw John Bostock on the school run this morning. Seems to have stayed in the area. Another one that came with promise but couldn’t impress enough

Ah yes, very odd. We bring in a player for the future, he doesn't turn out to be part of our plans so we sell him on for a profit.
I'd of thought the future is more than 14 months after signing him, and our current manager not getting a chance to see him train with us.

He did impress for me. He had an incredible passing range and had the ability to control games, he just never had a run of games. Seems like a good egg too.

He was getting rave reviews after a slow start at the time of his injury. I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get the chance to see what he can do.

To be fair I went on to the Oxford fans forum to see what they were saying about him. They were pretty happy with the signing but they did say he shows he has the potential to be a excellent player atleast at that level but he has not shown it consistently.

Think it was the best decision for both parties, like grant to lincoln good player but needs to consistently play for a couple of seasons to crack on. Don't think he would have got the time and patience to develop here and at 22, he can't afford to sit on the bench hoping for a chance. All the best to him and hope he achieves his potential, he will be a premier league player if he does, hope we have a selling on fee.

Shame, I think he had qualities that we lack in midfield & would have liked to have seen him given a go over some of the midfield dross we have accumulated.
