I am left-wing and I can see that a lot of what Taylor said in his interview is understandable - there is an element of political correctness that goes too far, something that the right-wing sieze on but isn't actually quite as prevalent as the right-wing rhetoric suggests. If you only read the Daily Mail or the Sun you'd assume all Muslims want to ban Christmas and Nativity plays, etc, whereas the vast majority are entirely happy with things and have no issue with it at all. I have never heard of any BAME person ask for a blackboard to be renamed a chalkboard.
There was a recent issue when Greg Clarke resigned after calling black players 'coloured' (as well as other faux pas). As someone in his position I'd expect him to be more aware of the etiquette surrounding this sensitive issue; that message of being unable to use the word 'coloured' then gets leapt on by the right-wing as an example of the 'snowflake culture' and wokeism instead of an isolated issue.
Of course there is also an element of the left-wing who are not representative of the general political stance, just as there are in the right-wing.
Both these minorities attract unwarrented attention to their political ideologies.

This is utterly ridiculous.

Absolutelutely no one has condemned him and nor would he have expected condemnation. There was no expectation of condemnation because QPR players and others have been doing it for weeks and no one condemned them. He has done it a for a few matches too without a murmur of criticism.
so the claim to "bravery" is a political posture to make it appear like it was somehow verboten.

And nothing he said is "profound".

And just to reiterate the point I was making yesterday lest anyone confuse what I'm saying:

I have no problem with him making the stand or saying what he said. My problem is with people making it out as something that it's not to literally make a political point when the the basis of that argument at the same time is about keeping politics out of football.

Do tell me Notcher what are “virtue signallers”?

Are they, by any chance, just people who have views that are different to yours?
You seem to be projecting. Why not ask me what my interpretation of them is instead of making a loaded assumption in an attempt to devalue my points.

Are you by any chance an uneducated idiot with a massive case of cognitive dissonance? Not nice is it, hopefully you take my point.

That is a disgraceful post and reinforces the point I made about your contribution to this debate.

When a poster can only make a point by insulting a fellow fan or calling people names their opinion is not worth reading.

So you did completely miss the point I was making then. Maybe you should read it back. Im. Pretty sure it was clear to others and what you attempted to do with your previous post, now that was disgusting and once again you completely the example I was making of what you did.

Just to add that I respect your views on football matters which are usually well informed and interesting.

It’s a shame that you have chosen to use medical and psychological terms that you clearly don’t understand and you are using inappropriately.

Are you by any chance related to Donald Trump?

Funnily enough I too take time to read your posts on football matters which I usually find thoughtful.

Maybe this proves one thing in the respect of the whole matter....politics and the whole thing should have been left out of football.

I assure you I want the same things as you for us all in society, we clearly have different views on how to get there.

Happy to call a truce on this one. Peace brother RB

Massive respect to Lyle for pointing out just why people should not be supporting an organisation like Black Lives Matter and respect for not bowing to the politically correct brigade and taking a knee I have little doubt lots more would prefer to not take a knee but are fearful of being attacked for doing so I also have massive respect for the Formula One Drivers who refused to bow to pressure to
take a knee I remember the media attack on Drew Brees in the NFL when he was refused to take part in the take a knee movement he was shamed into changing his views and apologise for his view that it was disrespectful to the American Flag also remember Alejandro Villanuevafor the Steelers coming out by himself for the national anthem when the rest of the team decided to stay in the locker room - I
watch football because I enjoy the game I watch the NFL for the same reason on a match day/game day I just wish we could leave the politics well alone and focus on watching/enjoying sport for sport.

We now live in a world world Tech platforms Facebook/Amazon/Google/Twitter giants censor the President of the United States rightly or wrongly after the events of the past week or if you love Trump or hate him or have no view at all about him - that should worry everyone left or right of the political spectrum maybe you could not care less politically but that should worry you but when I switch on
I Follow or Sky or BT or NFL game pass I just want to worry about Forest not losing or why Ryan Yates is in the team again I don't want to see political statements especially when they are associated with extremist political movements like BLM so Bravo Lyle.

I’m pleased you’ve calmed down.

Let’s stick to the football.
