Yes, he's usually spot on. Fingers crossed he's right again here. Colback and Taylor on frees would be an outstanding start to the window IMO.

Can't complain with him on a free.

Scored a goal every 146 minutes in the Champ last season which I think puts him second, only to Mitrovic, out of everyone who scored 10 or more.

You only have to look at the values attached to Connor Wickham's , Jordan Hugill's etc and even 2.1m was not the true worth of Kieffer Moore.

So the fact we have convinced the type of CF we need who scored better than 1 in 2 for Charlton last season on a free is very good business.

I'm still not getting too excited until its confirmed, but given that I expected him to go to one of the parachute payment clubs or Celtic, this signing would certainly be a real coup.

If this is true, I'll be more than happy.

f***ing splendid, it would be.

Call me boring but this sort of transfer activity gets me more excited than spunking millions on an unknown Portugese does or bringing in a 'name' on loan from someone like Villa. It shows the club are being careful with cash flow and selecting targets in advance rather than making it up on the spot. It gives me confidence that over a long enough time horizon we'll get back to the Premier League.

If Pete O‘Rourke is reporting it, then it’s fairly safe to say there’s some truth in it.

Frankly Taylor would be an outstanding signing on a „Free“; he’s torn Forest a new one more than once, and is the different kind of player to Grabban to allow Forest the hallowed „Plan B“ so beloved of the hard of thinking.

Get it done, Forest.

I don't mind where a player comes from and what they cost (provided it doesn't put the club at risk), but it's always great to bring in genuine proven quality. I'd have been happy if we paid 7 figure fees for players of Colback and Taylor's calibre, so getting both for free is outstanding business.

Good signing if true.

Yes he's not young but neither was grabban when we got him. If we manage to get Murphy and dickie and manage to keep cash this will be a great window.

Charlton fans giving it the bigg'un saying how underwhelming going to Forest. Thought he was leaving us for the Prem.

I suspect he would likely cost around £6m if in contract, could be great on a free and perfect for those midweek games.

Do Forest own/rent apartments at River Crescent? I saw someone say that Taylor was there yesterday but just shrugged it off as ITK rubbish.

From his own words, he was quite opening about wanting to make the most of what will be his last signifiant contract. So you'd suspect we'll be offering him some decent security in terms of wages and length of contract.

Don't think Prem was ever on for him though, unless he was happy to never see the pitch. I just thought we'd lose out to a relegated side, like a Bournemouth, who could pay him 20k+ p/w and have him as a squad option.

What I did like hearing about him, from both Bowyer and Ardley was that he needs to be 'loved' by his manager, and to feel valued/wanted. I think Sabri is just the man for that, and I wonder if that had a big impact on us getting him.

He’s like Grabban in the sense that he’s got better and better with age. Two experienced strikers who are both excellent finishers sounds good to me.

Charlton apparently demanded £4m from Brentford in Jan when they tried to sign him.

And that's with only 6 months remaining, I wonder if they went back for him now?

He would be a huge asset for most sides in Champ, Outstanding if we could snag him. Works his socks off too by all accounts.

I think we probably are paying him £20k a week.

Three year contract on £20k a week and a signing on bonus and agent fee takes you to about £3.5m - £4m.

We could have easily paid that for a new striker and then had to pay wages on top. It's a good deal for us even if we are paying £20k/week.

Hope we can find the ammo to supply, don't want to limit chances to srikers. Grabban did fantasic with little service last season.
