In your opinion.

Some players are dicks, and many aren't renowned for their laser like intellects. I'm far more interested in whether they can do a job for us than what their personal political views are or which party they voted for in the election.
If you'd of seen all of Lolleys tweets it was his opinion not mine.

**Edit** I don't care either what people political opinion is unless is based solely on themself and or racist, homophobic, xenophobic etc and that applies to Labour, Lib Dem, green etc.

Sure. My point is, and this isn't meant as a criticism of Lolley, that it's easy to write a few tweets. No one knows what he says in private. The more intelligent players and agents will make sure that their public profile is congruent with their career aspirations.

Fair enough, I get what you mean now.

Otis YOURE the best poster on here. If we had some sort of end of the year awards, you’d get all of them.

He may just miss out on The Sycophant Shield to a more worthy candidate.

Irrespective of your completely opposing views of me, you're both far too kind.

As for my earlier, snifter-fuelled rant about this Taylor bloke, despite the him coming across as an arrogant, entitled prick, he'd get my full support whilst he has a Forest shirt on his back. However, I wouldn't give him the f***ing time of day off the field.

30 years old now and refusing to play after the restart was a bit shitty of him albeit understandable with a move coming up.

11 goals in 22 this season for Charlton isn't bad for his first ever Championship season considering the injury issue he had early in the season. We know he wasn't on huge money and he's a free transfer, sounds like he'd be solid backup/competition to Grabs and a bit of a different option.

Stylistically, I think he'd be absolutely bang on for how we play - at this level.

He has left a sour taste though with me, even if it was for Charlton, with him bailing on them and refusing to even play in games he was still contracted for.

Would be a far better forward signing than the likes of Mir or Bonatini that's for sure. Not a world beater but on a free it's a no brainer, you land a versatile goal scorer suited to us for nowt.

If we go up though it might well be a step too far.

preston stockley showed what a big guy can do for the team. worrall was struggling against him especially in the first half. cushion down the ball , holding it up,heading etc. that's not really graban's forte.

I've liked him for a while. Just a pity what has gone down for the re-start with him. Saying that, he isn't the only person to have done it.

A beast in the air for our crossess and how well did he take his goal at the City Ground.

I honestly couldn't give a shit about him ditching Charlton when they needed him, provided if we sign him he's up for the challenge here and adaptable to fit into our dressing room.

If he swans off in the last few games of his contract here again then so be it, in the mean time we'll have had a couple of years worth from him - a good striker at this level, on the cheap, one that can actually challenge Grabban for starting berth not just perpetually sit on the bench.

Not quite sure why the article starts off saying we'll sign him whatever division we're in and then ends with it depends on the division we're in... Solid journalism there.

Ticks a lot of boxes. The match at city ground he was outstanding- scored the goal, worked his arse off, was a real handful for both our centre backs.

I would imagine the value of his contract will be determined by what division we are in.

Looking at it from a positive perspective, it shows they we are valuing him whatever division we will be in and with one being a Premier League option - it probably makes him feel good about us believing in him.

I think at the end it's saying the terms of his contract would differ depending on which league we're in.

It wasn't too many years ago that people accused some of our players of downing tools and that said players were bad apples that needed to be jettisoned ASAP

I really don't like the idea of signing a player who so publicly downed tools when his club needed him most. The bloke is a prize twat, I don't want him anywhere near the club personally.

If we were in a position to be picky I'd be more for standing by principles on this. But seeing as we signed Grabban over 2 years ago now, and haven't landed a genuine backup player/challenger/partner since, I think we should just swallow our pride on this one this time.

Lord knows I don't want to be signing another Mir. As good as Da Costa has been in recent games, he still hasn't scored and our lack of genuine goalscorers is still a glaring weakness that needs to be addressed, as is the lack of a big lad up front.

Lyle covers those bases for free.

He’s always looked a decent player when I’ve seen him, and he is not shot-shy, unlike some other supposed „attacking“ players Forest have deployed of late.

Would be an excellent tactical alternative to Grabbs, as well.

Personally I don't think someone who has done what Taylor has done is to be trusted, shows that he is someone who is only interested when it suits him and is capable of downing tools when it doesn't.

He's going to want a massive wage too, the whole point of him doing what he did at Charlton was to keep himself injury free so he can get a massive payday. I don't think he'll end up here anyway, probably just agent talk to drum up interest to attract a parachute payment club.

Tough on Grabban, for a player his size & technical ability, his hold up skills are a huge bonus.

Agree a bigger striker would be an asset though, Id stick something in Taylors contract to cover for the fact he's a bit of a ****, have him sign it & we've got a decent player on our hands.

Massive wage relative to his Charlton contract? I don't think he's in that strong of a bargaining position personally. Missed a couple of months with a knee injury, is 30 years old and now clubless and doesn't have a huge amount of experience at this level.

A goalscorer on a free transfer will always attract interest. A parachute payment club rolling in money would think nothing of offering a deal that would blow anything we offer out of the water. I can see someone like Villa or Bournemouth chucking silly money at him in the summer.

Quite a few Championship clubs have been in for him like Brentford, Sheff Wed, Preston and Reading.

That's literally the case for every player though isn't it? Any parachute club could blow us out of the water, doesn't mean they will.

My interpretation of that was that we're essentially offering him 2 deals. One based on us going up, and one based on us remaining in the Championship. Which as Bryan says, does shows some trust and faith in him from our side. If he's the kind of guy who wants to feel loved, then that's a clever move.

I do think he'd be an asset for us. He played two very different type of games against us this season.

At the Valley they had Leko stretching us, and Taylor came deep, pulled our centre-backs out of shape, got on the ball and linked well.

At the CG he played high, pressing, working us on the turn, holding it up and then scored a superb goal.

So he has shown he'd be effective at this level and I think he has the tools to fit into our system too in fairness to him. I previously had doubts about him at this level after his Lg1 season, but he's fully proven himself.

As I said above, the contract scenario left a bitter taste for me. But if he did join, it wouldn't stop me from backing him 100%.
