Kelvin Wilson

MASE

Up-Front
I've not been a fan of Kelvin Wilson for a long time. I was disappointed when we signed him from Celtic. He appears to think he's better than he is. Look at the Brentford Centre Half yesterday - the one with the beard - he was more than happy to hoof the ball out of play when there was the remotest danger. And as a result we never looked like scoring. Des Walker - a proper centre back - was never afraid to get rid and never ever thought he was better than he was. Wilson though gifted them that first goal, just as he did against Watford in the Cup. Someone needs to tell him you're not as good as you think you are.............

Folk have different opinions on a players ability, Im still struggling with the theory that because Wilson don't beat his chest & pump the ball into Row Z, he only cares about himself.
The mistakes are an undoubted negative, but I aint sure the fact he choses not to be a headless chicken at CB should count against him.

Mancienne is a better player, but has a similar laid back style. He's on decent money & made a few f*** ups, but we aint about to question his loyalty to the shirt.

Has everyone who is criticising Wilson, forgot that Vaughan gave the ball away too easily which led to their 3rd goal. Maybe you could start a thread to domthe same as you are doing too Wilson here?

The game was already gone by then, it's not as if his mistake(s) started us on the path to another loss. Plus Vaughan usually plays well whilst Wilson is consistently terrible.

Vaughan has been player of the season. Wilson has not and, alongside Fox and Dex, is probably up there with let down of the season.

I really don't understand the boo'ing one bit. It just creates negativity amongst the entire side, it's not only going to effect Wilson but everybody else.

As soon as that first goal went in and the crowd started booing Wilson, we were never going to get anything from the game.

The thing that baffles my mind is when Lichaj was sent off, leaving us massively short at RB, some of the crowd were standing up chanting his name as he was walking off. I know he has been better over the season but talk about scape goating.

I suppose now Fox hasn't played for a while somebody has to take a brunt of the boo brigade.

Agreed. But you must not blind yourself that booing is the teams downfall, the overpaid crap on the pitch caused that.

If you can name 3 games that Mance has made a direct mistake leading to a goal that completely changes a game, I'd love to hear them, defend Wilson all you want, fact of the matter is that he has directly cost us goals. Whereas Mance is our player of the season alongside Vaughan.

I think it was a couple of seasons ago, we signed Wilson and he came in at Blackburn and I remember being very excited that we had a really hot pairing of Hobbs and Wilson at CB.

Oh, how wrong I was. Both seem to have missed more games than they have played and both have failed to live up to that early promise. Neither can be sure of a place in the team and, IMO, neither is really important to our future.

Neither did Wilsons! (or De Vries if you're being completely fair, both played their part in that)

Our route to defeat started when 11 players crossed the white line and decided to coast through a game of football with as little effort as possible.

That was the worst game since we lost to Charlton under Brazil a couple of years back.

Just because his part in a shocking mistake led to a goal made it no worse than Vaughan giving the ball away, than Lichaj getting himself sent off or any of Mills catalogue of errors. Goals can change games but it didn't in this one.

None of those errors were worse than the lack of effort on the day and it was that and only that which cost us any chance of a result in that game of football.

Yep felt the same.

Might as well get rid of Wilson and Hobbs.
Both injury prone wrecks. We have far, far too many injury prone players who just don't play consistently. Until that changes we will consider to struggle.

Think that actually reflects quite well on the team spirit/togetherness that they had here. Players already there will have had a say in who are good lads to have at a club (from their perspective anyway), and thus it's no coincidence there's a mini Forest contigent has formed there.

Not really. Rotherham are Rotherham and desperate for players. Nobody wanted them to Rotherham got them. Collins and Derbyshire left already from original contracts. The same will happen with the others and they will get a nice little pay-day.

No really

They'll all be talking to each other and having their say with staff & managers of how they get on with each other. Par for the course.
