Where's me hammer?
A simple Leg break is nowt compared to snapped knees and such that seem to dog the game now.

He'll be back

Really bad luck for him but a leg break is extremely treatable so there's no reason why he couldn't be back and fighting fit next season. Judging by Karanka's reaction he seems to rate him as well so I hope he recovers quickly.

Another 6 months out for a 28 year old who has barely played over the last 3/4 years isn't great.

Breaks are so much easier to sort than ACLs or other tendon injuries though. It's just a case of keeping the "break" settled and then letting the bone heal, which happens reasonably quickly. Then they just have to get the muscles around it back up to strength. If it's a lower-leg break and only one of them is broken, then the other bone being intact will help with this anyway.

He'll probably miss pre-season then maybe a few weeks into the new season.

“These are my thoughts and I need to speak to the club, but knowing the people involved and knowing the club – one of the reasons I am here is because they are good people,” said Karanka, who initially felt Fuentes’ biggest issue was knee related, in the immediate aftermath of the game at the City Ground.

“I am sure that, as a club, we will look after Juan, for sure. I do not know in what way. But he got injured while playing for us and we need to look after him.

“If we are going to sign players in the summer and they feel we look after our players, it will be easier to convince them to sign; to come here.

“We need to be with him; we need to help him. Because he is with his agent and family, but we also need to be next to him and we will discuss what happens in the next few days.

“We need to discuss with the club what will happen. But we are a club who like to look after our players and our people. I am sure we will do something to help him, because he deserves that.

“This is football but he needs to look forward and to keep going.”

Karanka says surgery to repair Fuentes’ fracture went well.

“He had an operation yesterday to repair his tibia,” he said.

Karanka isn't even saying he's getting a new deal. Just that Forest will help his rehab.

6 weeks in a cast takes him up to the beginning of the World Cup.

Enjoy the TV time with a bit of gym work inbetween.

2 months of that and he’ll be fine for the start of season.

Long rehab even after recovering. Won't play this season.

Funnily enough, I was looking on trasfermarket and saw his name, didn't ring any bells and I had to Google him to see if he was a new signing

Even if he had recovered there was no word on his contract situation, he would have to be registered before March to play
