Jordan Rhodes

Why would Blackburn want to sell their leading scorer? Even if they were prepared to sell him, they would at least want the £8.0m back they paid for him, as a very minimum. Anyone thinking we could get him for £5-6m is living in cloud cuckoo land.

With wages and add ons, Blackburn could sell him for 5million and not lose money on the deal.

Well its pretty well known he is on about 35k a week at Blackburn, its the reason why he went. He also signed a 5 year deal when he went there, so...

35k x 52 = 1.82mill a season
1.82mill x 4 = 7.28

So if they sold him for 5million they would still not be losing money as they wouldnt have to pay his massive contract for the next 4 years. Either way we arnt signing him so I dont know why i bothered.

Nottingham Forest to bid for Jordan Rhodes, from a source within the club. Billy wants to link him up with fellow countryman Mackie #nffc

Confirmed by footymadkev. As good as done.

Can't see it happening but would love to see him here. Too much money. That's why a perm team haven't taken a punt on him. Too much to pay for a punt. You can get a good striker from Europe for less money. Still, if fawaz wants to dig deep, I won't complain.

The fee Blackburn paid was lunacy for a team in this division, i'd be worried if we spent so much for one player.
His huge wage could also cause friction in the dressing room.
That said, this rumour appears to be codswallop anyway.

That 8 million they paid for Rhodes is still more than what we stumped out in transfers this season. With his blackburn wages reportedly on 45k pw, it's just insane.

I would be surprised if this is true unless Fawaz has some financial wizardry lined up or players go the other way. Dex and Miller maybe. Doubt they would be that daft.
