Heffing Psycho!

I'm probably more annoyed than I should be that we didn't give him the vacant number 5 shirt. Could've had a Lou Bega chant ringing round the City Ground, Panzo number 5!

I think the 5 shirt has been retired in honour of Guedioura.
Ahhhh Sir Adlene Of Guedioura. It was deserving of retirement for that thundercunt of a strike against Leeds.

He signed for dijon for 3.06 mill don't think they would have let him go for less

Signed when they were in Ligue Un though.

They’ve since been relegated and the French TV deal collapsed like ITV Digital.

Apparently we’ve paid around 1.5m

It is a little amusing that their history looks so similar though.

I think thats where the similarity ends. Mancienne was far less mobile than Panzo, and really was a defensive midfielder, who could play centre back.,

I find that a slightly odd statement, as he's played most of his career, including all of his England Under 21 appearances, as a centre-back and very rarely featured for any of his clubs in midfield. However, some days he didn't resemble a footballer.

Let's be honest Mancienne never played any position particularly well so ended up getting moved around because you always thought he would be better in a position he wasn't currently playing.

I did like him but once you saw him as a very average footballer it was hard to look past it as he had no real strengths.

His main problem was that in the time between him being labelled as the next big thing and him being a senior pro, football became a lot more physical and fast paced. Mancienne could read the game well enough but ended up just getting bullied too often by 6'3 strikers who could run as fast as him.

Interesting that he's being praised for his pace, the scouting report from 2021 identified his pace as a weakness

Pace definitely isn't an issue. I remember seeing him at England youth level. If anything it's an attribute. Don't know where they've got that nonsense from about it being a weakness

Nottingham's dirty secret
5 top quality central defenders.
3 places up for grabs.

It's a nice problem to have but God knows who will be Steve's first choice.

We seem to have a nice balance of amongst the 5. Presume figgs will go in summer. Still excited about Soh and seeing what he can do. But Panzo seems to fit perfectly into how cooper wants to play.
