McKenna will be off to Celtic for a few million, hopefully we can ship out Dennis too.

I can’t see us getting rid of Worrall as well what with Boly and Niakhate being busy with AFCON this month.
He ain’t wanted there by all accounts.
Sounds Ibrox bound.
But £1m max..

How long have we waited for the results of City's hundreds of breaches to be heard and charged against?

They’ve agreed to have their hearing in late autumn I believe, which is very nice of them.

Everton didn’t seem to get any say in the timing of their hearing, and I assume it would be the same for Forest

Far too sensible - and would leave the big clubs vulnerable should a smaller club suddenly have a mega-rich owner.

The ‘big 6’ are a joke

In my view there are only 3 genuinely big clubs - Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. Whether we like them or not, they’ve all grown organically and won loads of trophies pretty consistently over the decades.

Tottenham have pretty much always been bridesmaids, have barely won a thing for decades and have no record abroad. City and Chelsea were basically another Sheffield Wednesday until they won the great oligarch lottery.

It’s absolutely outrageous that we have a system favouring these clubs, three of whom have added less to the English footballing landscape than Forest have

Captain calamity?

Have some fuckin respect for a lad that bleeds Forest & helped us get where we are.
No doubt he has great affection for the club coming through the academy but he is/was a Liverpool fans growing up.

Not just an academy lad but a local lad. Think it’s fair to say he loves/loved the club.

It’s also fair to say that if we were in the championship and a prem team came calling (had a bid been accepted) he’d have moved on from us a la Johnson. I have no issue with that, nor have I with reverse scenario of the club out growing the player.

I don't care if we do absolutely nothing this window apart from addressing the GK situation. It needs rectifying, we have lost points/matches so far because of it & will continue to do so as more and more teams will target them whichever keeper plays. Such an important position, you can't have a keeper you can't trust - if we did last season we would be in the Championship.

Aye... Cloughie always made sure a decent keeper was a priority.

a wolves fan on a forest podcast to talk about Nuno said he wouldn't be surprised if we brought in Conor Coady as his trusted lieutenant. Seems to make some sense as he's not playing much for Leicester and is only 30.

If McKenna and/or Worral are out the door then he'd probably be an upgrade and only cost about £5m.

I can see us getting Coady and Sa from Wolves. That also leaves Leicester in the market for a new CB (Worrall). It presents a trusted partnership with Coady and Boly, with an understanding with Sa behind.

Surely someone in Greece wants Vlachula…

Watching us v Blackpool we looked so much more dynamic with Tavares on (as opposed to Toffolo). I can see us moving for a LB once Tavares goes back.

The Alcaraz link is interesting. As mentioned on another thread, he’s been playing mostly RW / CF, but hasn’t had many minutes. Southampton are currently third and a part-exchange for Wood or a loan with an OTB (for Alcaraz - us keeping Wood) if they don’t go up, is another option.

If Wood does go, we’d need a replacement. Well, we need one anyway, but with the flexibility Alcaraz provides, I’d go all out for Guirassy or Wind.

With the way transfers work, all the above doesn’t affect our FFP this year. As the previous sale of Scarpa, the likely sale of Worrall and the reduction in wages from players being moved on (McKenna, Tavares, Santos, Origi) balances us out on wages.

Would leave us with:

*Sa* / Turner / Hennessy

Montiel / Williams / Aurier (can cover CB)
*Coady* / Niakhate
Murillo / Boly / Felipe (unlikely to move)
*NEW LB* / Aina / Toffolo

Sangare / Mangala / Kouyate
Danilo / Yates

MGW

*Alcaraz* / CHO
Awoniyi / *Wind*
Elanga / Dominguez

That’s a 26 man squad, with loads of flexibility in midfield and up top.

I’d ideally like to see Aurier / Kouyate move on (AFCON) and Felipe (injured), but it’s unlikely with the reasons mentioned.

Wood's going??! Can't see that happening.
I'd also hope we can do better than Coady.

Coady decent as one of three centre backs, but less so in a two. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him tho.

Yeah we'd be daft to get rid of Wood, he's a proven goalscorer. We need another forward but to replace Origi, not Wood.
I thought Origi looked quite good v Bournemouth and was obviously quite unlucky to get pulled because that fuckwit sent off Boly. Not a lot of evidence, but maybe Nuno can get a tune out of him. Not one I’d be emotional about though.

It was more about moving towards a squad of 25 / utilising what we’ve got, if we can’t shift players. It also depends on money available.

Coady and a part exchange for Alcaraz (with Wood) is a cheaper option, which frees up money for a goalie and striker. Obviously, if we have decent money to spend, we can splurge on a CB and keep Wood.

What we know is that Worrall is at best 4th choice. Coady isn’t the CB we need long-term, but is a decent stop-gap until the summer.

Wood’s done well under Nuno. He’s scored seven, and has a great conversion rate for minutes played. His goals (however) have all come against sides either promoted this year (or last), with the exception of Newcastle (against defenders he’s trained with for four years).

If you gave me a choice of Sa, Coady, Alcaraz and Guirassy coming in…with Worrall and Wood (out of contract in the summer) moving on? I’d be taking that all day long.

Origi being moved on is a given 😂

Promoted teams like Man City? And that's bit of a harsh way to explain away his goals at Newcastle.

Likewise of course, but I'm not sure I understand how you're getting to that very favourable swap situation :ROFLMAO:

I was on about this season, but if you want to add the last three seasons prior to this one, I think that’s the only goal he’s scored against non-newly promoted teams.

Yeah, it’s harsh, but I still remember all the other games (admittedly under Cooper), where he was poor.

Worrall to Leicester / Coady to us. I’m sure Nuno still has Coady and Sa in his little black book.

Wood + cash for Alcaraz at Southampton.

See, three quick calls and a few pieces of signed A4 and here we go 😂

Just need Strummer to tee up Guirassy and ask one of our many sacked recruiters to follow up on Jakobs.
