Jake Taylor

Tobias

Jack Burkitt
So that's Jayden Richardson and Jake Taylor both in League Two for all of next season.

Was this not the time to be giving them a loan at a slightly better level?

Said to be off to Port Vale permanently.

If anything's gonna build us a bright future, it's the tried & tested method of selling off younger players for threpance, to fund bringing in a ton of shite into the club.

Just out of interest Alf, have you ever seen the lad play?

He's in his early-20s now, not 18, and he can't afford to hang-on here or go here-and-there on loan hoping for an opportunity to break into our first-team.

Gary Brazil will have had the primary say in the decision if an offer from Port Vale is accepted, and he'll know more about Taylor than anyone else at the CG having brought him to the club after he left the Manchester United academy.

Port Vale? For once clearly not good enough for forest then. If he had been sold to Bayern Munich maybe it would be a cause for concern.

His agent talks a lot of sense (ex player). Says Taylor has outgrown u23s football now, but is not knocking on door of Forest first team so needs to leave for his own good. Will probably be small fee with large sell-on.

Also says Forest have been good with him and loan manager has watched him 3 times for Scunthorpe this year.

I know it doesn’t fit your narrative Alf, but if he’s not ready now, it’s best for all that he moves on to league 1 or 2. We will have a decent sell-on and possibly a buyback clause, while Taylor will get to develop at an appropriate level.

He’ll never improve by us hanging on to him and not playing him. A bit like Grant.

No doubt you’ll use this as a stick to beat the club with when he signs for a Championship club in 2 or 3 years though....

This is how all discussions with someone that holds the completely opposite view should end. A punch up in TBI with squirrels.

Although I fear I'll have about 20 people waiting by the fruit machine on Friday this week.

narrative
/ˈnarətɪv/

noun: narrative; plural noun: narratives

1. a spoken or written account of connected events; a story.
"a gripping narrative"

2. the narrated part of a literary work, as distinct from dialogue.
"the dialogue and the narrative suffer from awkward syntax"

3. the practice or art of telling stories.
"traditions of oral narrative"

4. a representation of a particular situation or process in such a way as to reflect or conform to an overarching set of aims or values.
"Alf’s carefully constructed and (oft-repeated) narrative about how Forest should only buy British league one players...”

It’s hard to tell when you’re joking when you bang the same shit out on every thread mate. Apologies for not catching the joke.

Can't blame him if that's the case. Organised him a loan that was a downwards step from where he was last season ,rather than league one, and which was of no good to him or us. He was obviously well liked and rated at Port Vale, so good move for him. Wish him all the luck in the world. Just a shame we've not given him a sniff to prove himself with us. Like Grant we'll be looking at resigning him in a year or so.

Having watched him play years ago I thought he was ok but nothing special, I have been more excited about other players than I have him but that was a few years back and he may have improved since I last saw him , But I doubt we would be letting him go if he was any good.
During his time many have come and gone , Cash , Burke , Brereton , Osborn etc. He should be in this bracket but he isn't sadly.

To take a break from discussing the shite football and horrific situation in the UK.

When the fridge is full we keep our bottled water on the balcony to keep it cold. It rained last night and Mrs C has just asked me,

"Will this water be safe to drink with the rain water on the side of it?"

Now here I should have said that the rain in Germany is the same as the rain in the UK, alas I'm a wind up merchant and I'm currently watching her wash off the bottle with another bottle of water to not contaminate it with the tap water.

She sounds similar to my missus.

Did a mate a favour a few years back by allowing him to do a financial review of our household incomings & outgoings. I deal with all that stuff so thought it was a good idea to get the mrs involved.

The upshot was, whilst being happy to prop up Amazon almost single handedly, she thought the £30 a month house insurance was a waste of money & suggested we cancel it!
