I think this one has the hallmarks of Kent to Leeds .

Saw Ryan Kent the other day playing for Rangers, looks a totally different player from the one who came to ours on loan at Barnsley. He was subbed at half time that day, one of the worst performances Ive seen from a pro footballer.

His progression from that is pretty eye catching.

It's crazy what maturity can do, in football and life. I imagine him going over to live in Germany as a young lad was an eye-opener in terms of learning.

I wouldnt pay a 1 mill loan fee, I think thats absurd to pay that to loan someone pay there wages and then potentially increase their market value.

I agree Emmerson.

Too short-termist & typical Forest to not be smart enough to plan ahead. You still don't get promoted this season you paid a large chunk on a loan that could have been used for improving recruitment and or others and we will also be stuck with a largely aging squad.

It won't be a pretty sight.

How much do you think clubs usually pay to loan players?

The £1m loan fee is pretty much what I'd expect to pay for a loanee from a Premier League club. Covering his full £40k per week wages is a lot though.

1m is fairly standard practice for a Prem loan nowadays. I’d do it. That’s only about 6 months bomb squad wages and we piss that away every season.

At least we’d get a good player for our money.

Edit: didn’t see wages as link wouldn’t load. Wouldn’t pay 40k on top.

That is my issue. They will want wages sorted close to 100% as we saw what they did with Colback.

I would prefer if we did add someone that they talented , fit the needs of the position and will be fairly low on wage. That may have to be from Europe.

In fairness its what the market decides and if clubs are prepared to pay that then fair enough I just think its steep. I prefered the old days where you covered the wages 100% and there was no loan fee but if there is compettion I suppose clubs can demand a fee. Just sticks in the throat to pay someone to borrow a player then pay all his wages and potentially at the end of the spell increase his market value. However I think we are crying out for LW who is a better goalscorer than Ameobi and Murphy is that I believe.

Why do you hate Ameobi so much? I thought he had a decent season.

5 goals in a team that plays in a way that the wingers and strikers get all the goals wasnt good enough. If Freeman comes in and pushes up it may take the responsibility from Ameobi but there are just better players than him around in general. I dont think any top 6 teams would have him in the starting 11. Its not an outrageous thing to say I dont get the uproar. You can disagree fair enough but tell me why you think he is prolific?

Jacob Murphy - 2293 minutes, 9 goals and 6 assists. A goal every 254min and an assist every 382min.
Sammy Ameobi - 3111 minutes, 5 goals and 9 assists. A goal every 622min and an assist every 345min.

Just to put some context to it. But also bare in mind that Ameobi was a free from a relegated club, couldn't tell you his wages but I don't they will be anything crazy. Jacob Murphy cost about £15million and is on a reported 40k per week.

If Forest really need a real danger from Left Wing, Jeremy Corbyn is in need of a job?

Granted he’s an Arsenal fan, but there you go.

For the record:

Do I think Murphy is an upgrade on Ameobi, yes.
Out of the starting 11 from last year, is replacing Ameobi as a regular in the starting 11 low down my list or priorities, yes.
