Surely the facts are in my favour?? Remember Murphy played for a mid table side?

Ameobi contributes a goal every 222 minutes
Murphy contributes a goal every 152 minutes

??? I dont know what I am missing here? Over a season that equates to 18 contributions for Ameobi and 27 for Murphy? Murphy also played for a poorer side. I dont doubt Ameobi was value for money I havent doubted that just he isnt profilic enough?

If someone said to me now buy Murphy for 15 million I would say no obviously but if we cab get him on loan he is much better than Ameobi????

For the record:

Do I think Murphy is an upgrade on Ameobi, yes.
Out of the starting 11 from last year, is replacing Ameobi as a regular in the starting 11 low down my list or priorities, yes.

Well it depends on Freeman, if we are going again with a deep midfield then we do really need an upgrade on Ameobi and to me that is a prioirity. If Freeman comes in and pushes up and contributes more than silva did than we wont need as much from Ameobi so we can get by with an allright championship player.

Funny player Murphy - he has the attributes but never seems to put them together consistently enough to make the sort of impact he looks capable of.

Flatters to deceive is my take, though he can cover multiple positions as a squad player. I'd like better.
