If Billy came back

FBS

If the club brought back Billy in Jan/Feb/Mar but he still couldn't stop the slide into league 1 would you be happy?
No telling what the following season would hold. So I'm just talking about between now and May

Well we wouldn't be happy about going to League 1. I believe if that were the case we'd accept that the club was so f**ked from top to bottom Billy couldn't possibly keep us up, the majority wouldn't blame him.

Billy won't come back though, Cotts is under a three and a half year contract and I doubt we have enough cash to pay the compensation.

Its not going to happen, people need to move on no matter how much we would all love it to happen.

Yes, because we'd have a man at the helm who could get us back into the Championship without breaking a sweat, and who could then go on to build a squad to challenge for the Prem again.

It'd take a few years after Doughty/McClaren's destruction of our previous Prem challenging side, and with the added challenge of FFP may take even longer, but we'd get there.

Yeah, and as controversial as it will be to many on here it was Billy who has put the club into the mess it's currently in.

If (and I'll do it in Billy Speak) Billy Davies didn't cause Billy Davies to get sacked we would never had had McClaren and his 5 signings and rubbish coaching staff and then never had to change again to SC.

If Billy had just shut up and got on with doing the job with the players he had rather than after every game moaning about his superiors and how they ran the club then Nigel Doughty would never have looked for another manager.

Billy would have known the financial situation of the club and the losses yet still moaned...

However good he was with the players on the pitch like in any other job if you go into work next week and constantly moan that your boss has not provided you with the latest super-fast Laptop or phone your boss is going to get pissed off.

Billy Davies made Billy Davies position untenable

And here we go again.....round and round.......

Two things -

1) Again, please provide some evidence (link, image etc.) to prove one of the Billy myths that he moaned about his superiors.

2) Yes he did, in response to questions asked him on the radio about going up and said that we weren't ready to go up - funny how again he was right - but don't you think that a realistic alternative to Billy 'causing his own sacking' by asking for things we needed to meet the owners expectation, would have been for Doughty to actually listen to his requests and give him what he needed? Especially as some of us fans were echoing those requests?

I'd want him gone by the start of the next season. Don't care who the manager is if it's about keeping us up.

I think we'd stay up, as it's clearly obvious that he is our lord and saviour.

Don't take my word for it though, just ask Col.

Can people please stop talking about f***ing billy Davies! yes he was a good manager, yes the board sacked him for no particular reason and yes were in this mess because of it but he's history now and he's not coming back. The sooner people get this into there heads the sooner we can start thinking about getting out of the mess that were in now instead of moan about something that's already happened.

When/If we start to climb the table is when most of the talk will stop. Fans are fickle and care only for winning. If we go down then expect the whole summer to be 'BILLY BILLY BILLY'.

I'm the same as most people on here, sick of seeing people talk endlessly about Billy. It was two managers ago, let's all move on.
But this thought just popped into my head and I wondered what the response would be.

If the lord and saviour came back but couldn't halt the slide would it make a difference to peoples reaction to him?.

Does no one else think that a manager who turned a side bound for relegation into one which finished 3rd in no time at all could get us promoted from L1?

I'm sure he could.

However I think he's holding out for the Rangers job if/when McCoist gets the boot.

Oh I don't think there's 1% chance of him coming back mate, but if he did in the scenario FBS descrived I'd be happy (as some may be suprised to hear  ) simply because we'd have a good manager in charge who could get us up again.

Guess it's a kind 'if you could shag which celeb, who would it be?' type scenario!

Is this the same manager who produced the worst team in history?

Or the one that couldn't beat a team that were favorites for relegation at the beginning of the season in the play offs?

Or the one that couldn't beat a team with 10 men for all bar about 54 seconds of the game at home again in the play offs?

His form with promotion is rubbish.

Excellent post DLC - completely agree.

If we take a hard look at the league table and our players current performances, our demise to league 1 is a formality unless some mirale benefactor comes in and completely revamps the squad in January?

Billy's the man to build a new foundation, get us back up "without breaking sweat" and establish us as a feared & respected force again (like we were just two short years ago!)

You really are Billy Davies in disguise arent you!!! lol

oh I can't be arsed, google the rest..

If you don't think Billy's reaction and constant moaning about not being supported, the TAP, the young players etc.. didn't heavily contribute to his sacking then you are even more distanced from reality than I thought..

Billy would make a good 1st team coach but not a public-facing manager!

This thread again?!?

Isn't it already very well established on here what peoples views on wee billy are? How many more times can we go over the same f***ing subject?
