I've got an away ticket for Brighton in my basket, but at checkout it says

Order Summary

Collect From City Ground: No Fee

With no other option. Is that for real? I live in Brighton, I won't be going anywhere near the City Ground in the next few days! Will they not send an electronic ticket?

The club website says no postal sales after 3.00PM today.
I suggest you call the ticket office to try and find a solution.

OK thanks, though I guess I'll lose what's in my basket by the time I get through.

I mean postal sales I understand a few days before the game, but electronic tickets shouldn't be an issue surely. Unless you don't generally get electronic away tickets?

I don’t think Forest send electronic away tickets-I’ve collected some this season on a Friday before a game.

I called the ticket office - apparently any tickets not collected from the City Ground are sent with the coaches on matchday and can be picked up from the opponent's ticket office. Might try again then!

Great-I hope you get one and Forest make it worth it!🤞

What do you think Forest will do,Robbo?
They’ve made a right hash of a scheme which wasn’t actually broken.
I haven’t got a scooby Cloughie ( certainly not ‘in the know’ ).
Just seem to recall the chairman talking about examining the data & looking at different ways of addressing the problem for next season.
I just don’t know what they have in mind. Suspect it won’t be good news yet again for the loyal members over many seasons ( might be even worse relatively for the 400 club - and I have no beef with those guys ).

In hindsight they should have refined the old scheme, and just brought in more tiers for historic loyalty .

That said those in the 400 who I know personally- I'm not one of them - were people who went to pretty much every game , so they did deserve first dibs.

Folk who went to 15 or so away games - that was me - were annoyed with the new scheme but many of them now work in groups and get to attend most games that they are interested in, so less annoyed now we're used to it.
If you put the effort in you will get tickets. It does take some planning but so does getting festival tickets and hot music concert seats.

And even if you don't have away memberships or can be bothered to work as a team on a Wednesday morning, you can get away tickets. But it's Brighton away on Mothers day or Newcastle on Boxing Day. Depends how much you really want to go. But it really isn't a closed shop. Brighton tickets have been popping up most of today

I expect Tottenham on a Monday night , live on TV, should be relativley easy too.

The real difficulties are people who just want to go to Old Trafford 3pm on a Saturday. When demand exceeds supply. Or Luton when allocation is small.
Although, I think the prospect of losing heavily again at some of the more prestigous stadia means that novelty is wearing off
, so even those tickets are becoming easier to get - if you're prepared to put the effort in.

So , I do hope they don't change the away scheme too much - chances are that it would become worse - or reflect loyalty less.

My view is keep it as is but skim off 10% for a ballot with half of those going to the next generation of fan for those who don't want/have a membership card or prepared to spend their wednesday morning queuing.

Cheers Cloughie - managed to get one!
Yeah, I wouldn‘t trust Forest to „post“ a ticket directly to you, to be honest; for the away-friendly against Frankfurt in August, they did post one to me, but - unfortunately - they forgot the „Germany“ bit of my address.

Christ only knows how it got here (one week before the match).

One solution they could bring in, is to restrict away fan tickets at the CG to whatever allocation they give us!

If the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton and even Liverpool this season, can't give us the full 3000, then they shouldn't expect us to roll over for them!

Would have my support - however, i think it's PL rules that govern allocation , alongside the £30 ticket price.
£30 really is a privilege. Imagine if the likes of Arsenal could charge even their average ticket price - would mean more like £75 a ticket.

I managed to get a couple of returns for Brentford on the Wednesday before the game. It let me put post as an option but within a couple of minutes I had a call from our ticket office telling me to collect from the Brentford office on the day of the game.
It worked without any problems at all, just quoted my name and that was it. Forest even refunded the pound postage.

That's correct. They are always sent down with match officials on the lead coach. This is because all unclaimed tickets must be returned to the hosting club prior to kick off. They go to the ticket office to allow people to collect them though

Oh, and another thing.

I would sit Newcastle fans in Meadow Lane, in retaliation for the 17 flights of stairs that you have to climb to get to the highest point in Newcastle!

You didn't have to show ID then?

I honestly can't remember but I don't think so. I'm sure as long as the name checked with what was on the envelope they were happy. I had the confirmation email but they didn't ask for that.

We've done it at Cardiff a couple of times, they even have a separate window for away fans, just tell them your name and they hand the tickets over in an envelope.

Spurs tickets on sale to away members this morning
Less of a bunfight than usual.
Still odd tickets appearing for away members who missed out (or forgot!)

New rule though - collections only by lead booker or individuals in the booking.
Adds unnecessary additional complexity.

Well, yes.

Think they are trying to ensure that tickets are not ending up with non members.

Our group has been emailing the ticket office giving authorisation for one individual, copiedon the email, to collect on the whole groups behalf. They have to produce photo id.

Bit of a faff. But has worked so far.
