How do other events handle ticketing for popular events? I am really out of the loop these days. But, for instance, if you have been to Glastonbury several times before, do you get preferential treatment? Or, say, some pop group?

Do you have to join some sort of membership groups to see England play?

Rugby seems to come out of these sorts of things pretty well, thinking of VAR-type stuff, do you need special passes etc to go to Twickers?

I'm a member of the England Supporters Travel Club. For home tickets ESTC members get priority to buy tickets, for away matches or tournaments priority to get tickets is based on how many matches you've been to over that last few years.

What I really like about their system is that 70% of tickets go to those with the highest number of loyalty points (they refer to them as caps) and the other 30% go to a ballot. So if there's a match which is likely to be over subscribed, Germany away for example, any members can apply for tickets and even those who've hardly been to any games previously at least have some chance via the ballot while those who go to pretty much every game get tickets easily.

Those logging on for Liverpool tickets trying to find the queue. The ticket office opened sales at 09:30 instead of 10am as advertised

My Platinum Disappointment Membership came up with the goods again.

This Premier League malarky is a nightmare.

Who would have thought there would be high demand every week for getting battered home and away?

Yep, managed to get through the transaction processing bit without timing out on this occasion.
It takes me 30 seconds to go from the queue to checkout, shouldn't really ever time out. I was front of the queue at 10:10 confirmation email by 10:11 💪

Takes me a little longer as I have to reassign 3 of the tickets. For the Leicester tickets, the transaction was processing for around 5 minutes (maybe longer, I can't remember), then it timed out.

They've definitely ironed out early issues, I've managed to get tickets for Leeds, Leicester and Wolves now with little to no issues. Much better!

Even though I’ve managed to get tickets for every game through this scheme, I still hate the theory behind it and the way that lots of supporters who went to a high number of games last year have had their loyalty annulled.

That being said the process has been much more user friendly and smooth for last few after the total randomness of the first two games. It actually seems your ticket stays in the basket now as well!

I thought I was never gonna get a ticket after how poorly my attempts for Newcastle, Everton and Man City went. Baskets emptying at random, complete site outages, etc.

I'm with you though on the injustice that the more ardent supporters of years past find themselves pegged down. Quantity over quality, I guess!

Does anyone know if buying tickets count towards purchase history for the future?

I'm not sure whether they've completely done away with it or if purchase history will be required in future.

It definitely does for Priority Plus Away members who must achieve 80% purchase or lose the status.

If some of the 400 drop out it may mean that others with high purchase levels may have an opportunity to replace them. Likewise this could create capacity for the remaining 4,600.

The Club stated that it would review the policy after this season - with no guarantees of change. Presumably those members (home or away) with no purchase record may be reviewed.

FSA has undertaken a review of PL away ticketing policies which show differing arrangements with most clubs recognising loyalty (including previous seasons), and a few also using ballots for some tickets,

Forest already stated away members need to purchase 3 tickets to be able to renew membership next season.

Despite multiple attempts I'm currently on one, and that one was the first game of the season, so I'm not convinced I'll even manage to get 3 with the way things are going.

To be honest if that happens I'll be glad of not being eligible for away membership next season. I'm already bored with the repeated failed attempts already.
