On a positive note, how well is Becks playing !!

Strange thing is, we've been the better team really, played some nice football, created a few half chances. Not sure Holland really made themselves a decent chance, though they didn't need to with Gareth Barry and Rio on their side as well.

Should also point out, both goals came from stupid short goal kicks from Green. NEVER f*** around with it there, get rid you plonker.

Great goal by Defoe !!!!!

I've always liked Milner. Can run for 90 minutes, decent touch, great crosser, can score. Definately more productive than SWP and Young have been.

Come on Randy, how can playing a geriatric playboy who plays in a league, well below any of the standards on offer in England, playing for the national side be positive ??

Because he still has more talent in one leg than a lot of those in his position ! He ran the game tonight.

As I did not see the game I could comment apart from he is a little too long in the tooth now to start trying to live up to his hype. When ever the going got tough, Beckham got going..............................But not in the way a world class player like Zidane could and would

Away to a very good Holland side, he pushed and showed by example. Although he is in a mickey mouse league, he still has the talent. I think we will see him back in Europe by next year ! I think age has turned him into a better player. Whilst he will always have that hype of being a one trick pony, he was admirable. He looked as fit as the young lads and I was very pleasantly surprised !

What was the score I think judging by the comments on here it ended a draw. All I know is Forest won as I heard it on the radio. I'M hoping we didnt lose. The reason i am asking this is because I've been out for most of the evening and not had the chance to check teletext if someone could talk me through what happend it would be appreciated.

It was a match with nothing to play for, when ever the chips are down, against quality opposition, when ever in his career as he taken a game by the scruff of it's neck and altered the course ? That's world class

He's had an influence in most Englands games tbh. You don't achieve what he has without being world class. It's hard to compare him to the likes of Ronaldo, Zidane, Messi, Ronaldinho, but they don't boss every single game they play in ! Zidane was a great player, but I remember a time he was under questioning for his contribution to the French team !

Greece, the Leicester city of International football.............attrition rules ok. They surrendered so much midfield space to defend the back line, I could have looked creative against them.

Quality meaning world class, France, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Germany etc

He is capable of some quality passing and dead ball situations, but under pressure, he has to my eye's always failed to deliver. Alex Ferguson was happy to get rid, whilst still keeping hold of quality players like Scholes and Giggs. Leaving old Trafford, has he really been missed ??

International football, have I just seen fat boy Commons playing for Scotland tonight ??, I rest my case

Not really but Fergie had the insight to expect him to leave and bring in Ronaldo as cover until he did go. I see your point, but he's one of those players who can turn a game, whatever the occasion, with a flick, kick or pass.

He may not influence the game for the 90 minutes, but in my eyes a world class player is one who can change the direction of a game no matter how the flow !

That my pal is the wonder of football. We can all see different aspects and produce differing views whilst watching the same game ;D

Carlton Cole had a good half. Defoe is finally showing us he can do what Owen used to do so well, consistantly.
