Seems to have gone quiet on this front?
I agree, fees do mean very little in the prem.About what Liverpool paid for Robertson.
Man City paid £2m for Zinchenko.
Fee means very little in this context.
Reading their forum a guy they consider as an ITK claimed the other day it was off as we'd moved the goalposts. Probably means he's already signed and we're waiting to announce.Seems to have gone quiet on this front?
Both 10m and 12m have been reported for the release clause.Says they want £12m for O'Brien when I thought his release clause was £10m?
O'Brien looks a player but I think it would foolish to buy him thinking he was coming in to run the midfield next season. He's still fairly young and has no PL experience, so similar to Yates in some ways. I would hope that both of them were supplemented in the squad with at least one player who's played in the top flight either here or abroad before. To me, that reads as 10-12 million in total for both players. So averaging out at 6 mill each?
Edit: ok, re-read and HT want 12 million for just O'Brien, we want both for that price. It sounds like 14 would get the deal done. Haven't seen anything of them other than our matches, so no real opinion on how useful they'd be. Is O'Brien a likely midfield performer at PL level or more bench depth?
We need 2 signings a week (including this week) from now until 6th to have a squad ready for Newcastle imo. Ideally you have them in for the end of the month if they have any shot of starting week 1.I'm rather hoping that the club are feeding journos information about deals already talked about, whilst doing business on the quiet on other players.
Because we need others apart from the ones which are reported on daily and even those are hardly going to set the world on fire or even the CG turf. Toffolo sounds OK and I suppose you can make a case for buying him, but not one to set my pulse racing, for instance.
Also sheff utd allegedly wanted £5m - £8m for Lowe.Arguably the best left back in the Championship last year for 2.5m when the best right back is touted for nearly 20m? Bargain of the summer. A no brainer. Get him signed up ASAP.

Who gets injured quite a lot. Also sheff utd allegedly wanted £5m - £8m for Lowe.
Also, his attacking stats in terms of Assists/Goals were superior to our Middlesbrough-owned RWB last season. 6 Goals and 7 Assists in 42 games, compared with 2 goals and 5 asssists for Djed. I agree it's a no-brainer.Arguably the best left back in the Championship last year for 2.5m when the best right back is touted for nearly 20m? Bargain of the summer. A no brainer. Djed had a great impact on games but his goal contribution was poor overall for the positions he found himself in. I can hardly even remember him putting many crosses in? He played as a winger most games. Also, his attacking stats in terms of Assists/Goals were superior to our Middlesbrough-owned RWB last season. 6 Goals and 7 Assists in 42 games, compared with 2 goals and 5 asssists for Djed. His job was to move the ball up field and push the game's centre-of-gravity closer towards the opposition's goal to give our attackers more chances.Djed had a great impact on games but his goal contribution was poor overall for the positions he found himself in. I don’t recall his final ball being that bad either, but there just seemed to be a limited goal threat considering his overall threat.
Presumably this is why cooper prefers Williams as he will probably still get in those positions but his passing, crossing ability is better. Obviously he’s not as quick though.Djed had a great impact on games but his goal contribution was poor overall for the positions he found himself in. Hopefully we get that on the other side with richards this yearHis job was to move the ball up field and push the game's centre-of-gravity closer towards the opposition's goal to give our attackers more chances.
That explosive energy he had with his ball retention skills gave you 30-40 yards in the build up.
Yeah I don't disagree, but I would have liked to have seen a better goal output for how dangerous he actually was.His job was to move the ball up field and push the game's centre-of-gravity closer towards the opposition's goal to give our attackers more chances.

Who doesn’t enjoy getting pulled-off on a sunny Saturday afternoon? Not in their friendly squad this afternoon, 'ITK' bloke on the Hudds forum reckons he was pulled from the team late on.
