Gutrot Cup - Third Round Draw

When I was flying there were three of us great mates and football fans. Ted/Spurs, Alan/Gooner and me. At that time we could not only give them both a game, but usually finished up winning those games. Like the Spurs game at WHL when Eric the Viking had his debut, the first thing he did was pick the ball out of his own net after a calamitous start. We won and were guests that day of Irving Scholar (!) as his girlfriend/wife was a stewardess with BA and great mates with Ted. Got invited to the boardroom to meet Venables the then manager and partake of the prawn sandwiches.

So I really, really want to stuff the Spurs and remind Ted that we are again a force to be reckoned with both on Sunday and in this Cup thing.

Lovely goal. PL quality that is.

Always had a bit of respect for Tranmere fans even though they were a bit nobbish to us when I went to see Forest away vs them ages ago. Would be so easy to support Liverpool, it's literally a 5 minute drive under the Mersey tunnels into Liverpool.
There's a kid in the front row wearing a Liverpool jerseys. 25sec

I've been to Tranmere a lot and it's the only ground I've been to where some home fans wear the colours of another team.

Also, Scousers against that A52 club. Don't know who will be more unbearable
The kind of match you want both teams to lose, or, alternatively, Vladimir Putin to call a nuclear strike on.

Given Derby's away form in recent years, it's practically a bye into the 4th round for Liverpool reserves anyway.

They’d rather show David v Goliath games.

Well, that's the dullest possible draw.

The exact same fixture as our next league game.

I don't think there are any, Liverpool v Derby is the equivalent of David's little toe versus Goliath and his Dad, so that doesn't qualify.

Master Yates

John Robertson

All made by the right-back there in my opinion. His pass is quite progressive/ambitious and then he’s straight on the move with the run, with a nice cross at the end.

All the other passes and the finish are pretty simple and the obvious choice really. If the RB goes back to his centre-half instead of that nice pass infield, the whole thing breaks down and the centre-half probably launches it over the top to nobody in particular.

Goes to show how much easier football is to play when team-mates make good runs.

We've got relegation to avoid.

This cup fixture is three days after Brentford and four days before Crystal Palace, both home games for us, both very winnable.

I suspect a fully rotated team will happen.
Hi Maxi.

I know that the man (Coop's) will do what is best for the club and team. But what i love is to see a team try and that's just what i love about football.

Take Sami Ameobi for example, i dont even think he knew what he was on with on those rampages, but i enjoyed it. Likewise Yates. I never could understand the stick he got in the early days while giving his all.

And finally, Yeovil.

yes, i said Yeovil... they had no right to come to the city ground at 2-0 down and do that to us, but ive had a soft spot for them ever since.

Thats what footie is supposed to be about. If we simply expect to loose to a superior team then hand all the trophys to man city now and turn out the lights...

Give it some heart and full effort every time!

If we loose, we loose. No regrets

Up the reds and lets do the southern tossers three times (or loose trying)

I used to really like Forest Spurs games back in the day as we were two good footballing sides, but towards the end there was real edge when they had the likes of Lineker, Nayim and especially Paul Stewart - I hated that guy he used to bully the f*** out of us.
Him and Martin Keown wankers. And Shearer was a c**t.

Not checked my maths on this but in THEORY could have 40 points by then so team very much depends on how we’ve done to that point…

Not expecting that many but were we to be comfortable mid table it’s going to be different to if we’re in the bottom three.

Has he singed yet?
I'd still treat it as secondary regardless of if we're coping well or not. Best to get all our resources on the job in hand.
