Gutrot Cup - Third Round Draw

Disappointing draw really as there are a lot of PL sides going out now.

We'll have forgotten about Sunday by the time mid November comes around

Matchday 6 of the Champions League is the week before this one. So looks like this game will be the week before teams break up for the World Cup.

Is the 3rd round usually that far into November?

Good that it's a home draw.
Back in the eighties I used to work with a Spurs fan - we'd have a bet every season and I'd usually win.
Not so confident now.
But we'll have an extra few months to get our act together so anything could happen.
Let's surprise them and add another famous cup scalp.

Cooper will rotate as well and their reserve side smashes ours.
Not so sure about that myself. We've no promotion to aim for, winning the league is unlikely (to say the least) so what better way to re-pay fans and owner than an exciting cup run?

I expect/hope Forest will field a fairly strong side for this due to-
1.The nature of the opposition.
2.Our squad is/will be strong by November.
3.The World Cup break follows shortly after (possibly encouraging Cooper to ‘go for it’ unless our league
position is desperate).

We've got relegation to avoid.

This cup fixture is three days after Brentford and four days before Crystal Palace, both home games for us, both very winnable.

I suspect a fully rotated team will happen.

I used to really like Forest Spurs games back in the day as we were two good footballing sides, but towards the end there was real edge when they had the likes of Lineker, Nayim and especially Paul Stewart - I hated that guy he used to bully the f*** out of us.

Aye.. Paul Stewart was always a thorn in our side.
