Definitely didn't make it at City, never even made the bench
That’s the recurring problem isn’t it? Deciding players aren’t good enough, but then replacing them with players who aren’t.At least we've got the opportunity to give more PL minutes to our quality attacking players like Origi and Wood instead of Scarpa. Because they're amazing.
I'd argue he never had a decent crack of the whip but then also realize nuno likes a small squad so who else do we get rid ofAt least we've got the opportunity to give more PL minutes to our quality attacking players like Origi and Wood instead of Scarpa. Because they're amazing.
Another hit & hope punt which had positives but no real plan behind it all when you look at how our team played. Good outcome in the end with the fee though, but that doesn't change the fact that throwing player upon player like this at the manager isn't going to get us to where Marinakis wants us.
We haven't signed any £30m busts, have we?If we keep signing £30m busts then we'll need lots more of these profitable ffp gems, even if they never play.
£6m for Gus should cover Cooper's severance pay.

I'd echo those sentiments. Good luck to the lad.He sounded like a good player, seemed like a nice lad and I am sure that he helped the other Brazilian lads settle in. Sorry it didn't work out for him but the reality is that this is the best league in the world and he probably wasn't quite at the level. Good luck Gustavo.
It was meant somewhat sarcastically; at time of writing I'd just read a load of posts saying MGW and/or Sangare had been poor signings. We haven't signed any £30m busts, have we?
Scarpa isn't a kid. We're better off with the 4m. Kid seemed nice and had some talent, but he was weak in areas which meant playing in the Prem was always gonna be a tough ask for him. Glad to see the squad one lighter and a decent fee received.
Yeah, but his beard did make him look like a bit of a goat.Scarpa isn't a kid.
At 29 he had missed 99% of the opportunities to come to Europe when he was a kid.
There had to be a reason he wasn't one brought over when he was 19 or 20.
The ones who don't get here at that younger age are unlikely to succeed if they come over as an older player.
Forest took a risk based on him being Player of the Year in Brazil.
Unfortunately that risk didn't work.
I couldn't find the Scarpa thread in ex players so apologies for making a new one
Moved and merged.
Looks like it didn't get moved to 'Ex'... @Strummer ...sort it aaaaaht!
