Genuinely sad about this because he was such a nice person from all the social media and news reports.
He's obviously incredibly talented on a level non of us could reach!
Sometimes it just does not work and it hasn't for him and us and Olymp.
I wish him the best and know from experience at games we all wanted him to the best player we had ever signed.

There's also the possibility that his agent has been able to negotiate a decent enough signing-on fee to help cover his considerable crypto losses.

New reports from Brazil deny that there's a deal either with the player or with Forest.

It is now practically taken for granted in the Greek and Brazilian press that a) Scarpa will leave Olympiacos in January and b) that Forest will sell him back to Brazil, after a bidding war between half the clubs in the league. The starting price is 4.5m euros, it could rise to 6.

I read something earlier today suggesting the player feels he may have a better chance to establish himself due to the change in manager and isn't keen on a move. It also talked about the MLS for him which seems unlikely. You think nonsense?

The first rumour was last week's. Things have changed since, and in Brazil they say that he's already talked to Scolari about his role at Atletico Mineiro (who are the favourites in the bidding war).

His wife's wishes will play a part (reportedly, the player wants to remain in European football, his wife wishes to go back to Brazil).

The MLS link does not seem credible to me.

At least we'll have made a profit with the fee, plus dare I say a 'generous' loan fee from Olympiakos.

I'm sure bringing in a player for free then selling them 12 months later is good fir the FFP books too.

He was always going to be up against it - coming to European Football so relatively late in his career. He would have had to grab literally every opportunity and prove that he could play at this level from the first kick of the ball.
Disappearing back to Brazil (even though I totally sympathise with the circumstances), lost him the opportunity.
