All the 'Scab' stuff just amuses me. I wonder what % of both fan bases actually understand the reasoning behind it nowadays.

It really is desperately dull and irrelevant. My guess is that less than 0.1% of fans at the CG will be Ex miners and if you discount those that have been turned into golf courses, my guess is that 99% of forest fans will have never been been anywhere close to a mine.

Its like taunting Newcastle fans because the North East capitulated to the Vikings in the 10th century....

I live in Barnsley and still get Scab stuff as though I actually give a f*** about something that happened 35 years ago when I was 5 years old.

I'm a Nottingham lad myself but my family are Barnsley folk originally and neither of them could give a shit about it either as none of them were miners.

As though the ultimate death of an unbelievably dangerous industry that caused over 164,000 deaths was a bad thing.

Our commiserations.

If you drop a PM to one of the Moderators, we‘ll see if we can sort out a care package for you?

Eddie Yates is on duty this week, so it’ll probably be a dog-eared copy of Razzle, a four-pack of Stella, a chip cob and a Toblerone.

Cheers mate, the copy of razzle might be seen as a suspicious advanced technological means of communication though.

I also presume the toblerone is one that has been unstrapped from Diakhaby's boots and chips won't be cheesy if they're from Eddie?

In all seriousness; I’m from a mining family myself; my dad was in BACM, and he worked for the NCB/British Coal until he retired.

I worked for a short period at Compower as a contractor in the mid-90s too.

I’m surprised it took so long to call us scabs.

“I’m the son of a miner…You have no clue” got like 30 likes. Passionate bunch.
If they're from Sheffield it was probably a typo. More likely it should've been - "I'm the son of a minor."
