Fascinating how many players there are at the club these days that I couldn't name or recognise in a crowd.

For many years I could spot our players, but not now, except for the regular participants, of course.

There seem so many who are on the periphery and just appear on the odd training video or the assembled rush when we score or gain a point.

Aye same here Richard.

I hope this signing works out in the end, he seems to have the right attitude and gets on with everyone else at the club.
Would like it to work but I think loan is definitely the best option for him next season. He is up against some very good competition and would count towards the 25.

No reason he couldn't break in over the length of his contract though.

There are a few of last seasons signings I really wanted to succeed based on show reels alone. One was Richards, one was Mangala, one was Danilo and the other was Biancone.

For that reason I really hope he’s part of the squad as he looked great and actually started off pretty well too (ignoring that sensationally bad first touch he did).

Great video that is. You really want him to come back and be successful - shows such a great desire to be part of the team. Moussa too - another brilliant personality with a strong mentality. Proud to have them as Reds.
Agree Steve B, we have a very good core group.

Footballers should release more stuff like this, that conversation with Moussa + Mangala was great and very revealing.

Also Mangala's comment about the intensity, these are top level footballers & it still takes them time to realise the demands. Although you do realise that when you watch PL football in person, it's a different animal to any other league.

I read that Burnley returned for training in June.
Kompany knows only too well how demanding, physically and mentally, the Premier League is.
I think Burnley will not only survive under his leadership, I think they will hit mid-table, and stay there.

I used the FA cup game against Man City as the barometer when they were flying high at the top of the Champ, and they got pumped 6-0.

They will have to adapt their style if they don't want to do a Forest at the start of this season. Perhaps that's why he's brought them back so early.

Burnley really is a coin flip, their style could work really well like it did for Leeds under Bielsa or it could work really badly like it did many times for Norwich.

I know, sitting on the fence! But it's hard to see how it'll translate. If they get off to a bad start it'll be "adapt or die" as Cooper said and found out himself.

Yes Burnley got brought back early but it was still a month after the season finished. Ours have come back 6 weeks after season finished.

Will be interesting to see if that makes any difference
