Anyone any idea on this lads injury history though? Just looking at his past 5 seasons, and he doesn't seem a stalwart........

To put it into context, Carvalho had more game time than him last season than he's had in any of the past 3.

Wondering if that's injury, or just better quality in front of him.

That just counts the Europa League for some reason

There are only 30 games a season in the Swedish league.

UEL being the Uefa Europa League.

Wikipedia has him down as playing 46/60 domestic games in the last two seasons, although that's unlikely to be right either.

Is that as serious as rupturing an ACL? Asking for a friend.

It’s about mid way between that and snapping your banjo string.

Not too far off the number of games in a Championship season then. Bodes a lot better than Sow, who (on top of his injury problems) was not used to playing many games.

Yeah, my thoughts too.

Lots of small positive signs with this one. Like always, proof will be the pudding.

I'm hoping for him to hit the ground running as he should be coming in ready to go with Malmo being well into the start of their season.

Some data from Forest Analytics on Twitter from Bachirou's appearences so far this season. Pretty encouraging stuff, over 11 recoveries per 90 mins is proper Kante stuff, wins his duels at a good percentage and he seems to look to pass the ball forwards as often as possible.

The million dollar question. Hopefully for us to improve attacking through central areas and passing through the lines the next midfield addition could be crucial to receive his passes.

Shame he isn't about 25/26, but then he'd probably cost a hell of a lot more... Although that said, he seems like someone who's likely blossomed as he's grown into his own game more.

Exactly the type of midfielder we need, I understand this transfer I hope he has the quality as well!

Reminds me a little of Gueddy. If he's more consistent then he could be a very tidy acquisition.

Seems to have right attributes for us. Seems a like seasoned pro and his experiences will allow him to transition to championship football, so seems less risky. Signings so far, although not particularly spectacular, seem a good fit for our needs and for championship, long may this approach continue.

Not sure how much good learning English did him living up by Glesga though, they don't really speak it up there either...

I lived in West Cork for five years and, by the time I left, had no more understanding of the country lads than I had at the beginning.
I had one man make me a shed and when he described what he was making it might have been a replica of the Taj Mahal for all that I knew. I just smiled and told him to get on with it.
