I interviewed him in the mid-nineties for the Forest Forever fanzine - I would only have been about 15-17ish... it was actually at his newsagent booth in the Vic Centre on the way into the Market :)

Lol. I know it wasn't a superstore, but he could manage it. Being old school I think he would be excellent on the "Guest Speaker"  nights we get now. He had some corkers. He played alot of games for us and used to hate mentioning the 59 FA cup final. He played either side of it for Forest. Thats why I figure he was either the eldest of my Dads bunch or the gen. before.

On the topic note...

In the background Eugine Dadi just scored for some Australian team. *Something* Glory. He was with us wasn't he?!?!?

Coincidental as Carling Cup coverage switched with Sky 1.

I swear I saw the name 'Rod Fanni' flash up on SSN the other day, he had a trial with us, didn't he? I seem to remember the jokes.

I know some of these should be in the other thread, but they're here now!

Rod Fanni currently plays for Stade Rennais in the French League and is a £3m target for Newcastle United.

Jim Brennan does indeed play for Toronto FC in the MLS. He is now a left-winger and has scored twice as many goals as he did for Forest, in half the games.

Eugene Dadi currently plies his trade in the Australian A-League for Perth Glory. He has scored four goals in only eight games for them. Not a bad record by anyone's standards.

Nigel Quashie is, of course, now at Birmingham (on loan from West Ham), so still playing at a decent level. Something which he never achieved for Forest.

The LEGENDARY Bernard Allooooouuuuu is playing in the Belgian Third Division, unfortunately way below his standards, for White Star Woluwe FC.

Remember Andy Johnson? Yeah? Well, he's currently at Barnsley. Apparently! He's only played four times since the start of last season, but he's there, all right!

Jean Claude Darcheville is, as we all know, playing for Rangers. He's done alright for himself. If it hadn't been for the personal tragedy he had to deal with, I think he'd have been a fantastic player for us.

When Pierre Van Hooijdonk retired at the end of the 2006/07 season, his goal-scoring record looked like this: 551 games, 335 goals. I think it's safe to say that he did well after he left Forest. As SHJ said, he won the UEFA Cup with Feyenoord and the Turkish League, twice, with Fenerbache. He also had a song made about him which charted in Holland. The song was called: "Put Your Hands Up For Pi-air".

Marco Pascolo only played five games for us, but when he moved on to FC Zurich, he played 115 times for them and gained 55 Switzerland caps in the process.

How about Paul McGregor? He scored the winner against Lyon in the UEFA Cup and afterwards, moved on to Carlisle, Preston, Plymouth and Northampton, before retiring in 2003 aged only 29.

Lars Roar Bohinen (what a middle name) left Forest for Blackburn in 1995, before going on to play for Derby. However, when his contract was cancelled with them, he went back to Scandanavia, signing for Lyngby Boldklub. After retiring from playing, he took up an Assistant Manager job at Valarenga, before resigning to become Sporting Director at Stabaek, who this year qualified for the Champions League qualifying rounds after winning the Norweigian Premier League.

Tommy Wright, who played for Forest in the early 90s... He played for a few clubs after us before managing Ballymena United. He is now the goalkeeping coach at Norwich!

Here's the best one yet, though... Richard Irving joined Forest from the Manchester United academy, only playing once for the first team against United, of all teams before leaving Forest for Macclesfield. Things didn't get much better for him and he left after only playing nine times. He never played professional football after leaving Macclesfield and is now a commercial airline pilot living in Alderley Edge, Cheshire - That's the same place as all the footballers!

Mickael Antoine-Curier knocked around the English lower-leagues for a few years after leaving Forest and now plays in Scotland for Dundee, where he has scored 13 goals in 23 appearances. He is also an internationally-capped player, too, having played for Guadeloupe three times, scoring four goals in the process.

Chris Allen played for Stockport, Brighton, Dover, Port Vale and Aldershot after leaving Forest. He currently coaches the under 14 side at Oxford United.

Thierry Bonalair left Forest and returned to France to run a restaurant, but shortly after, he signed for FC Zurich. He retired from playing in 2001, aged 35 and is now head coach at Lille.

Some others...

Gary Bannister, who apparently has one leg shorter than the other left Forest for Stoke City, before ending his career with Lincoln and Darlington, then after retiring, he moved to Cornwall and currently lives in St Ives, where he has a couple of bed and breakfasts while coaching one of the county's best amateur sides - Porthleven.

The 'great' Gareth Edds is currenty with Tranmere, although he has never played a competitive game for them, after being released by Milton Keynes Dons.

The more eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed a young(ish) man line up for Havant and Waterlooville against Brentford on Sunday by the name of Steve Howe. Yes, that one!

David Phillips is coaching the Coventry City under-14 side, as well as being a summariser for BBC Wales.

BRIAN RICE is currently the Assistant Manager of Falkirk FC. Aside from this, he seems to have multiplied more than 20 times.

Geoff Thomas
The inclusion of Davey Oyen is a bit harsh. He had to go home because of the death of his Mrs and kid in a car crash.

Something similar also happened to Darcheville. What's wrong with our club??

3 players that I consider to have done well are Gunnarsson, King and Andy Gray.

gamble

Stuart Pearce
Benjamin Gavanon- went to play in the french league for Marseille( i think) scored a fair few goals and just missed out on the french league title

What ever happened to Hugo Porfirio??????

Well, since you ask...

When he went back to Benfica, he played for the first team for another season, before being relegated to the reserves after publicly insulting his chairman. He was then sacked over the matter, but took the man to court and claimed €2million damages. When he won his case, he was also reinstated to the reserve side.

When the reserves went under in 2004, he moved to Portuguese 3rd Division Serie C side Sociedade União Primeiro de Dezembro and later he moved to Club Oriental, who are a Paraguayan 3rd division side.

He later played for Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia before retiring in 2007.
