(Edit: In response to the chat about Birmingham City, I missed the quote somehow)

True. It's a big city and you'd think Birmingham should be bigger than they are, but they aren't, and historically have been the poor cousin to Villa.

If I was an independent serious investor looking for an English club to take into the Champions league, I think it would be (have been) Villa. Rich history, biggest club in the second big city, European cup, it ticks the boxes. Better than Wolves, better than Leeds.

In fact their new owners are meant to be worth several billion, so if they have the competence to go with the money, I wouldn't rule out them breaking through the London / North West stranglehold. Villa was my initial thought when I heard the story about the PSG owners looking over here, but they're taken now.

For the play-offs, I want what leaves us with the best chance of going up next season.

Derby are in FFP mire, so if they don't go up they should be constrained. Assuming that is, the league don't allow the stadium profits farce to stand. And it's Derby.

Villa could potentially be on the up big time in general, but if they don't go up this season they'll lose their parachute payment and I gather they should be severely constrained by FFP too.

Leeds actually look to be run relatively sensibly on the financials front, with a strong natural revenue because, and you may not be aware, they have enormous crowds. So even if Bielsa-bub and team leave, Leeds should be able to strengthen the playing squad.

West Brom will only be on their 2nd parachute payment, so should be strong.

So basically, I think I want West Brom to go up. Then Leeds, though with gritted teeth. But that depends on FFP not being abused.

Birmingham City's support is worse than other clubs in the local vicinity.

Of all the clubs in the West Midlands; Villa, West Brom and Wolves are definitely bigger. You could probably make an argument for Coventry being bigger despite being a basket case for the best part of 20 years.

Second city it may be but Birmingham City's fanbase is poor, considering.

No. Birmingham are massive, more fans than Leeds.

Looking at the videos it's inconclusive whether there is contact or not. Unless the FA have access to another angle I can see why they didn't charge him.

I think he probably did get caught slightly. I still say he dived and made the most of it but I guess they would be on a sticky wicket to have banned him when he was clipped.

About even with the Grabban penalty (which he missed) earlier in the season. That was a bit contentious at the time.

Unfortunately loads do it. Nowhere near as bad as Gayle I think we can all agree.

The Gayle dive was ridiculous. Sickening that it was even awarded really because the referee and linesman COULDN'T see anything. No deception was required in that case; he was always going to give it.

WBA in for him.

It was a great goal. Walker's run to Mellis' perfectly weighted pass for Hamilton to that finish.
