We're basically at Sangare's release clause in terms of bids for this lad if reports are true. And PSV already have his replacement.

Plus Benfica are known to want monstrous figures for their players.

I can only assume Sangare has told us he doesn't fancy it. Or this is games to get PSV to lower their valuation.

Reading between the lines, we’ve accelerated our interest in signing players because we’re now certain that Brennan will be sold this window.

Therefore, waiting for Sangare seems to have lost its appeal as we have cash to spend and need reinforcements in that position. He is no longer the #1 option on our list; maybe he only was because we felt we could get him at a reduced price?

I wonder about Mangala's place being most under threat, mainly given he rareky gets past the 65 minute mark. That said he started over Yates the other night so...

Whatever happens it's a squad game these days, especially with longer matches. All will get plenty of use in a 25 man squad.

I really do think the current formation limits our midfield though. When we play five at the back, then the two in midfield get dominated, or we have to drop one of our biggest attacking threats to accommodate.

Yeah, I initially had the wingbacks - but I hate dropping Johnson.

I actually don't think our current wingbacks are good enough currently to fit into midfield and have only two "real" midfielders - maybe Aina is at RWB, but Serge is class.

I tend to think that Joe goes alright when he’s playing alongside Felipe and Niakhate as shown in games last year as they balance out some of his deficiencies

When don’t we “Not” play low block.

As I said Joe has weaknesses but I don’t have the anxiety levels when he plays alongside our 1st choice CB’s as opposed to when he’s paired up with the likes of McKenna and Boly.

I do get we do need an upgrade but I’m content with Joe as good depth

Tough choice, Yates has something that is difficult to put my finger on but we seem lost without it. Yet I feel if Mangala had a bit more technical quality around him would look a different player.

It would take a lot for Danilo to be dropped IMO.
