I used to work for a large, national utility a few years ago which had a similar but more direct approach to motivation: "If you don't like it you can f--- off down the road". That mindset was pervasive throughout the "management" of the company.

I've also worked in the public sector more recently and remember an all-staff call (the department employed c.3,000, about 800 were on the call) where the top "manager" in the department (who was ex-McKinsey) came out with the same line when pressed on pay: "if you don't like it you can always leave". She's since been moved on, but so much for our enlightened times.
Our CHRO is fond of saying "if you don't like it get off the bus."

Its been an amazing success, along with rolling back hybrid working and getting rid of compressed working, in really improving colleague morale.

This was highlighted by the forensic accountant working with the Fans Trust. The PL disallowed a substantial amount at a very late date giving Forest no time to raise funds to cover it. The PL should be hung from the nearest tree for that alone.
What I don't understand is this should be a serious mitigating factor for us, assuming we'd be fine or close to fine regarding FFP. Its weird how we get slated for what we did but the PL telling us last minute is a serious issue.

Yeah but we signed 30 players! Case closed.
So what if about ten of those combined probably cost less than Antony did Man Utd, wages included?

A good friend of mine, who is a former Ajax-youth player (and still follows the club) tells me that glasses are still filled and raised in the Ajax Boardroom over the amount of money they screwed out of Man U for that one-trick pony.

Its got the whiff of a "Kirchner" all over it.
It doesn't because Kirchner was a blagger.

777 are different beast altogether. They are a Private Equity company that has been trading for over 8 years. There is some dodgy background in one or two of the partners, for sure, but 777 owns majority stakes in about 40 companies, including 20 odd in sport. This includes 5 or 6 football clubs.

Their problem is that they've expended money faster than their ability to fund has expanded and their business model hasn't been proven yet.

I wouldn't want them anywhere near Forest due several reasons, not least their finacial instability, but they not like Kirchner, who was a chancer and a fantasist.

I see Kieran Maguire spouting a load of rubbish about us, saying that the wage bill is too high. and there is no sympathy for our breach now. he is a piece of work, he knows next to nothing about finances. repeatedly kept saying promotion bonuses are not included in PSR calculations. guess he was wrong. Our Wage Bill will be reduced quite a bit after the January window. Bonuses will be lower for staying in the PL.

Our wage bill is/was far too high.

Minus the one-off promotion bonus, we were at about £40m for the promotion season, a year later we were at £145m, higher than a few well established PL clubs. I'd wager we are even higher this season.

Wages were a far bigger factor in the PSR breach than transfer spending.

It should be a mitigating factor & it’s understandable why the powers that be at the club were so angry. From I’ve seen & read the club feel there were a number of reasonable mitigating factors that the PL just ignored. The fact that the PL wanted an 8 point deduction - Everton started at 10 points - just 1 point less than going in administration was ridiculous.

I've been away from the thread for a couple of days so haven't read it all and not sure if this has been discussed but the more I think about "double jeopardy" the more it stinks.

What happens when you flip double jeopardy on it's head?

"Oh, I'm sorry Tony, I know Brighton sold Moises Caicedo in the last accounting period for over £100m but, unfortunately, we've already let you claim that one for the last three year rolling period. Yes, we know that technically it's still in this period as well but we're claiming double jeopardy that you can't fall back on that again this time, so here's a PSR charge. Be a good lad and sell someone else to Chelsea to comply next time will you? A charge for them? Sorry? Oh, no, Big 6 and all that."

It literally makes no sense whatsoever and it's laughable that some independent commission think it justifies 2 points leniency. I'm convinced Everton threw the argument in there knowing it would get laughed out of the room and are now laughing about it over a jar or two that these idiots actually gave it to them.

Agree, but it ought to set a precedent. If we break even this season say, and fail FFP by about 9 million, how on earth can they justify docking us points based on this? Though no doubt they will of course.

I read somewhere recently that their credit rating has dropped 2 or 3 times in several months to C-and that they are now rated very weak. Their football financing projects are in grave danger.

Their whole operation is in danger. They are so highly leveraged it's indefinable.

They have investors and lenders chasing them for them for hundreds of millions of dollars.

It might be a classic House of Cards, not unknown in the PE business.

You’re very lucky you haven’t dated a Geordie. 😬
November 2005 until the day we got knocked out of the Euro’s.

I dumped her because she was unsympathetic to us losing the game. We were in a pub and she was calling all the England fans a bunch of useless counts.

I’m more club vs country, but it wasn’t the first time she’d kicked off and I’d have to step in.

So…one last BJ in the morning and off she trotted.

She was brilliant fun to be fair. Took her blowjobs very seriously…”It’s got the word job in for a reason!” she’d say happily in a strong Geordie accent.

Good times!
