Financial Fair Play (FFP)

It is true - fans here are absolutely tribal, but we are all capable of getting together in a coordinated way, when the need arises - like the the successful protests against Monday-night matches (stopped after fan backlash) and the recent protests against potential external investment in return for a chunk of broadcast revenue (again stopped after massive fan protests aligned between the various clubs‘ „Ultra“ groups).

There are some genuine rivalries (Eintracht fans hate everyone else, and everyone hates Bayern, for example) but common sense breaks out when there is a cause that requires a common, united approach, and supporters all get along together.

Apart from Karlsruhe SC, f*** those untermenschen.

Football tribalism trumps everything in England and the circus will always be encouraged to keep the masses "happy" and missing the bigger picture. Hence why our underfunded peasants sang about the King to other underfunded peasants to provoke a reaction. when in reality the joke, was on us.

For those of us that prefer not to have our data harvested - what does he say?

I'm going to try to exterminate my involvement in this thread, and anything other than what happens on the pitch, because with that I might just about retain an enjoyment of football at whatever level Forest currently play at.

I think this whole saga, and the financial/ownership thing that runs parallel, has highlighted that anything other than the 11v11 is a load of old shite that will only switch me off from something that I love.

I'm going to find Ray at Spoons...

My thoughts exactly, try not let the corrupt shite grind yer down pal.
I find the light hearted approach often helps.

In short that it's unfair that as a newly promoted club our allowable losses are lower because we're having to make up ground to compete
If anything, it should be the other way round; a club gaining promotion from the Championship should be allowed to over-spend if they want to for that rolling three year period, as though they’d been in the top flight all three seasons.

Otherwise it’s just another way of penalising a promoted club who are trying to establish themselves.

Everyone, I think, acknowledges the gap between the PL and Championship is enormous, and the majority of Championship players just aren’t good enough (see this seasons‘ Burnley and Sheffield United, who’ve both recruited poorly).

Of course, if you were, as a Premier League, deliberately wanting to hobble promoted clubs, then you’re doing a great job.

Worth noting as well that despite our unprecendented (for us) spending spree SEVEN clubs reported a bigger loss for the 2022-23 season (eight had a higher loss over the full three years before all the FFP dodges were taken into account).

Edit: NINE clubs actually reported a higher loss over the three years than Forest (Chelsea, Man Utd, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester, Fulham, Newcastle, Villa)

What was it the PL said when ‘punishing’ the so called big 6 for trying to destroy the PL and setting up the Super League……

”You can’t impose on field punishment for an off field violation as it adversely effects the players and fans”
🤔
Last year I met a retired lawyer, wokred in London for years mostly in TV and some sport, owned a production company and knew lots of people involved in football (his anecdote about Bobby Robson was one of the funniest things I have heard)
Hates the PL with a passion, maintained it is corrupt as f*** and only there to serve the top 6. They have their breakaway league in all but name, the rules are set for them to richer by making the others poorer. Really nice bloke, shame he was a Leicester fan.

They weren't even fined according to the FA and Premier League joint statement.

"The six clubs involved in proposals to form a European Super League have today acknowledged once again that their actions were a mistake, and have reconfirmed their commitment to the Premier League and the future of the English game.

They have wholeheartedly apologised to their fans, fellow clubs, the Premier League and The FA.

As a gesture of goodwill, the clubs have collectively agreed to make a contribution of £22million, which will go towards the good of the game, including new investment in support for fans, grassroots football and community programmes.

Furthermore, the clubs have agreed to support rule changes so that any similar actions in the future would lead to a 30-point deduction.

Each of the six clubs, in that event, would also be subject to an additional £25m fine.

The Premier League and The FA have worked closely together throughout this process and this agreement brings both investigations into the matter to a conclusion."

Double whammy because promoted teams tend to pay a promotion bonus which effectively reduces what you can then spend to try and stay up.

They're not even trying to hide what they're doing.

Of course they only made this rule up in June. Until we asked I don't think those scrotes had realised they could twist the knife even further for promoted teams.

My guess is that both Forest appeal and Evertons appeal will both fail meaning that the end of season table will remain intact thus stopping any legal action from other clubs.

So all the KCs on the Appeal Panel are bent and its not independent?

Which likely got distributed via various footballing "charities" no doubt.

"charities" which those imposing the fines likely held some stake or role in.

Unless one or both of Forest & Everton finish in the bottom 3.
In which case expect legal challenges ( from one or both ).
